now i agree St. Louis does have southern influences but i think its mostly in rappers like nelly and chingy. but i heard alot of rappers in STL dont even like em cause of there style. but if you look STL aint 2 far from da southern limits

I don't understand why everybody's got such a problem with this guy. He can rep whatever he wants to rep.

Now I do think that if he told people that Minnesota was not in the Midwest, I do think people would laugh at him. I lived there for four years, the vast majority of the people there and the vast majority of those I've met outside Minnesota would call Minnesota Midwest. But what I think he's trying to say is that "Up North" is like a subset of the Midwest, kind of in the same way that "The Crest Side" is a subset of the Bay Area, or "The Gulf Coast" is a subset of the Dirty South.
