Alex Smith and his agent wanted 4-5 years, $14 mill a year ..

but the 49ers offered him $24 mill for 3 years and Alex Smith is the one that refused to sign it because he felt like he's being low balled ...

what does he expect tho? some big time contract when he can't even do the job in 3rd down conversions or get plenty of 1st downs by passing?

Alex Smith can go sign with the Seahawks and I can't wait to see him in another jersey ....that's my wish..been my wish and I'm glad it's happening..

That is where you're having trouble seeing my point i made earlier. The 49ers offered Alex the 3 years for 24 million dollar contract that i bet ALEX said YES to. The problem is Manning and Alex have the same agent, so this agent lied to alex and told him he was getting low balled so maybe he should hold out for a bigger offer. You see this creates a conflict of interest, yeah this agent represents both athletes and should look out for their best interest, but lets not lie to ourselves. The agent values his relationship with P Manning a million times more then he values alex's relationship. So I bet manning let the agent know he was interested in the 49ers, so if he could do him a favor and stop Alex from inking a deal with the 49ers.

In other words Tom Condon the agent is a snake. So don't say ALEX refused or didnt want to sign, I believe he was ready to sign but his agent advised him not to.

What a fascinating dynamic that exists now between Alex Smith, the Dolphins and the 49ers. Someone gets no one.

we just drove up the price for Alex Smith, I bet that 3 year 24 million dollar contract alex was saying yes to a week ago is no longer enough for him. With a new agent and more interest in Alex he will be seeking 3 years 30 million. Especially after what Flynn got, a guy who didn't accomplish half of what Alex accomplished last season.

The New Motto is "ALL IN ON MANNING" for us.

Are Alex and Reggie linking up together again in Miami just like their high school days??

One league source told CSN Bay Area that Alex Smith has no one to blame but himself for the precarious situation in which he he now finds himself as an unrestricted free agent.
Smith is said to be "upset" with both the 49ers' organization and his agents, despite the fact that he declined to sign a more-than-reasonable $24 million contract offer last week. "It was in Smith's best interest to sign that deal a week, 10 days ago," the source said. The source also confirmed that Smith is unlikely to get that kind of offer from the Dolphins or Seahawks.

So why listen to his agent if he was ready to sign? lol makes no sense!

It's pretty obvious Alex Smith didn't want to sign it because he wants "elite QB" money ...something he's not or will ever be!

@Fiddie all good brother, I liked the kid as a QB and he'll do something good in Seattle maybe..and if he does ..don't say I didn't say so..

Sometimes I think Harbaalke & Smith are trolling us ....come tomorrow or Tuesday, watch Alex Smith sign the offer the 49ers gave him..

Heres why Alex is pissed

He comes into a franchise in rebuilding mode, gets blamed disproportionately for our failures even tho he has had a ton of coaches, who all suck, has no good WRs his entire career, and a shitty O line with one or two good players on it and the way people respond to it is

So he continues to put his head down, doesnt blame anybody but himself and last year they finally turn it around and does this

Easily the greatest throw and play of the last 15 years of 49er football and still people like Dfresh are like you suck, its FUCKED

Alex Smith willing to be Niners’ backup plan to Peyton Manning
http://49ers.pressdemocrat.com/2012...-willing-to-be-niners-backup-plan-to-manning/

It only took Alex Smith a few hours to get over his anger at the Niners for pursuing Peyton Manning, apparently.

According to Jason Cole, Smith will not sign with the Dolphins unless the Niners sign Manning. Even if the Dolphins offer more than the Niners, Smith wants to be in California. In other words, he wants to swallow his pride and win.

Now, Smith has to wait like the rest of us for Manning to make up his mind.

Wow. Alex has gone through hell with this organization and to be willing to comeback to be Manning's backup plan? That's loyalty. Totally didn't expect him to swallow his pride that much lol. Denver post reported that the Dolphins offered him 8mil a year.

He's not willing to be a backup QB, he just decided to wait until Manning makes his decision, because of the chance that he might be able to return to SF.

@DFresh, he could have signed with Miami actually. He wants to stay in California, if at all possible, and that's why he is going to wait and see how hit unfolds.

I know you hate him, but he's coming off of a solid season, and it's not like he won't be able to find a job.

Props to Alex Smith, win win situation for the 49ers now. Alex is a straight up class act and I don't mind him being the starting QB.

You realize that was our first playoff appearance in 10 years right?
And he didn't take us there...it was the defense and Akers...and of course..Jim Harbaugh and how he suited limit plays that only Alex Smith can do...

You still haven't gotten it that he's a limited QB huh?

like I said..break down his 1st downs by passing and 3rd down conversions from game 1 to the championship game..

you'll see the dude is not what you guys think he is.........marginal QB's don't get a team far..and it was our defense that did get us there..
