Foreal tho...I don't know anyone besides a Raider fan who would argue that the Raiders weren't the worst team in the NFL last season, and probably one of the worst of all time.

I DON'T KNOW WHO OTHER THAN A NINER FAN WOULD SAY SOME IGNORANT SHIT LIKE THIS. THE RAIDERS HAVE WON THREE SUPERBOWLS AND STILL HAVE AN OVER ALL HISTORICAL WINNING RECORD. THAT ACTUALLY MEANS THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE BETTER TEAMS OF ALL TIME, CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT WE HAVE BEEN IN A 5 YEAR LOSING SLUMP.

NEW YORK -- The San Francisco 49ers have forfeited their fifth-round pick in next month's NFL draft after commissioner Roger Goodell deemed them guilty of tampering with Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs.

Goodell also determined the teams will switch picks in the third round of the April 26-27 draft. Chicago, which had the 12th pick, will get San Francisco's seventh pick and the 49ers will get Chicago's choice.

Goodell determined that the 49ers violated the NFL's anti-tampering policy by contacting Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about his client during the 2007 season.

Briggs, an all-Pro in 2007, had been designated as Chicago's franchise player, signing a one-year tender that meant he could not leave the Bears.

He had been expected to leave as a free agent after last season but instead re-signed with Chicago for $36 million over six years. Briggs will earn $21.6 million in the first three years of the deal and $13 million of the contract is guaranteed.

There had been reports of contact between the 49ers and Rosenhaus last season, and the Bears filed a tampering charge with the NFL. Goodell said both teams cooperated with his investigation into the allegations.

I believe the man meant that the Raiders team of last year was one of the worst of all time. Not the whole franchise. At least that's what I got from it. This Niners/Raiders shit is almost like racial wars up in this bitch. Funny how every Niners thread gets shitted on like this sooner or later. But I guess it could go both ways, except I ain't been in every Raiders post to know.

I had a feeling that's why the 49ers stopped going after Briggs cold turkey. We heard rumors all last year, and this year, then all of a sudden in the middle of FA I remember Maiocco was sayin there is no possible way the 9ers will go after or even want Briggs now. Made it sound like he just got hit with the bubonic plague. I wonder if the 9ers backed off thinking it would help their cause, obviously it didn't. Gay ass Bears lookin for freebies. All these players gettin signed 10 minutes after free agency starts and the 9ers the only ones gettin reeemed.
