I guess that remains to be seen. I don't think anyone is expecting Alex to be the next Joe Montana, but he has shown glimpses of being a pretty decent QB. If Trent Dilfer can take a team to the Motherland, why can't Smith?

The verdict is out on Alex this season, IMO.

Morebass and you are right though..

I myself don't see Alex Smith turning into a Joe Montana or Steve Young..

but I'm sure he has improved a bit, this season will be the verdict for him....if he doesn't improve..he should be thrown in the pit of serpents and hungry pitbulls.....

I wanna see how Nate Davis has progressed. That dude could be the future. We haven't seen much from him, but he impressed me when he did play.

Can't wait for the season to start.

im debating between the pre season battle of the bay

or the season game at candlestick?? im thinking season game tho!! since it happens every couple years fuck it
Fam..How is a Pre-season game vs a Regular Season game even a debate?

On a side note the 9ers should get that 1st round bye this season...The only negative or drawback i see is Alex Smith.....Everything else position wise seems locked and loaded......

Damn Niners vs Raiders 3 times in one season this year.. And yall are losing each game. Pre season, regular season and the super bowl.. OUCH..........
U must be tacked out, high as fuck in your portable toilet thinking the raitards are going to beat the niners let alone the raitards making it to the playoffs. We already own our division and will make it to the post season. Chiefs, chargers will own y'all and Tim tebow will have career highs against y'all. I'm predicting tebow throwing 2 tds and rushing for 1 td against the raitards. Lol

No one gives a fuck about the raitards. There's a reason the NFL black out their games besides ticket sales. No one gives a fuck about them except ice cube and snoop. Take that bullshit team back to LA. There's only one bay team and that's the 49ers biatch!!!
