As for Crabtree....................................................................................................

Who cares. Could be better with him, would be nice, but this is the business of football.

When he signs, he comes in, learns the book, and will still be a fucking back-up this year anyway. What are we losing?

"Oh shit! Our season is fucked because our 4th or 5th string wr isn`t in camp!" Get real.

yea fuck you raider fans! lmao.

O but CNI, im pretty sure Crabtree isnt the niners 4th or 5th string WR lol pretty sure he was drafted to be a starter
he was drafted becuase he was a top 3 talent at pick 10. at that point in time you take the best player available, which we wisely did. we didnt expect him to be there thats why we picked up brandon jones in the offseason. we got like 6 receivers under contract bruce, hill, morgan, battle, zeigler, jones and crabtree. just from his college career he should instantly be ranked in the top 3 of our receivers maybe even fighting for the 1 spot just off his college production.

tony, incase you just started getting into the political part of the nfl, teams draft based on need and value.
Well why is Fatal saying that they're not expecting much from him anyway? He's already a back-up. The Niners didn't "need" Crabtree, they're already stacked at the WR position. That's why he's not signed yet, because they really don't need him. And how valuable is he when he's coming off of foot surgery and hasn't played one down in the NFL?

we do not have a bonified star at the wr position. we have a bunch of quality players, and Crabtree will be a huge addition. but this year we just so happen to be deeper at the wr pos. then the last 10 years probably.

you dont make any good points, tony, and you come off like a hater. just let it be.

Of course, someone with his talent is drafted to become a starter, but lets look at that statement. He is to BECOME one. Nowhere has anyone from the 49er brass stated that Crabtree was going to be the 1 or 2 wr from the gate. Singletary hasn`t even tapped a starter at QB and wants to field the best team he can through competition.

If you guys, Raider fans that is, want to follow the 49ers, that`s fine with me. Shit, while you`re at it, go buy a jersey, too. But before you come into a 9er thread and try to argue points about our team, at least try to save face and know what you`re talking about.

The reality of it is that Crabtree would be the 4th or 5th string THIS year with the opportunity to move up through hard work and competition.

The majority of us don`t give a shit at this point that Crabtree isn`t in camp yet. Instead of worrying about our rookie wr and what we HAVEN`T paid him, you should be more concerned over what you did PAY yours.

Fatal said that he was 2nd string behind Josh Morgan. So which is it? I hope he's not 4th or 5th string, that would mean he sucks and is a wasted pick. I don't care what year it is, you don't draft a receiver in the top 10 and then say he's 4th or 5th on your depth chart. If he is that low on the depth chart, that means this holdout is having a negative affect.

Exactly but let CNI tell it, he's 4th or 5th on the depth chart, LMAO!
Yes sir. Let me tell it. Read this section again and look at the reality. Does his talent level warrant being 2nd or 3rd? Absol-fucking-lutely! But this is the reality pimp, with the depth we currently have, his injury and contract status come into play. I stand behind my comment 100% with him being 4th or 5th with his current status. This isn`t about his abilities, which were a steal at 10. When he gets in? I fully expect him to clime the chart rather quickly, but that will depend how fast he can grasp the playbook. This isn`t rocket science, bright one. All you have to do is pay attention; which is so easy a caveman can do it. You should be able to as well. I have faith in you.

WIDE RECEIVERS: Starters -- Isaac Bruce, Josh Morgan. Backups -- Michael Crabtree, Brandon Jones, Jason Hill, Arnaz Battle, Dominique Zeigler, Micheal Spurlock, Mark Bradford, Dobson Collins.

The 49ers have greatly improved their talent at receiver. In fact, the team has so many receivers there figures to be heated battles, not only for the starting jobs but for playing time. Bruce was the 49ers' leading receiver last season. But he did not take part in the team's offseason program, perhaps opening the door for younger players such as Morgan, Jones and Hill to earn substantial playing time. Crabtree was the No. 10 overall pick, but he was inactive through the offseason after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot. Battle, a veteran, is in the final year of his contract. The onus will be on him to prove his worth.

tbh I hope Alex Smith comes good and gets a chance at QB and stays healthy the entire season, I wanna see what he can do at his best.

I understand alot of you longer supporting niners fans hate him with a passion lol, but they invested alot in him so it makes sense to see the investment come good.

Yes sir. Bruce is good to have as an on the field tutor, but I would like to see what becomes of Morgan, Hill, and Zeigler.

49ers fucked up with this pick and should have grabbed Rodgers, but......
I`m still willing to give the kid the benefit of the doubt, since he hasn`t really had a solid chance to prove anything. New OC every year coming into the league and a weak o-line would make Brady look like shit, too.

Ultimately, I still think Smith is gone after the year. This up coming draft will have some nice QB`s in it to look long term. Hill should do alright if we do make this a power run attack, to man the position long enough to find a long term replacement. That`s my assessment anyway.

it's easy to say that after you know what happend. going into the draft smith was the right choice. there was a reason rodgers fell all the way to 23.

I was biased that draft. Let me clear that statement up right now. I`m a Cal Bears fan sir, so I was saying Rodgers from the gate.

What do you say is the reason he fell to 23?

GB was blessed that draft with Rodgers as the 49ers were with Crabtree at 10. Yes, he didn`t fall as far, but it happens all the time.

Prime example:Michael Oher #23 Ravens
He was slated as a top 5 pick.

Interested to hear your theory.
