This addendum really isn’t a part of the major theme, but I’ll throw it out there, anyway: If the 49ers DON’T land Warner this week, what do they tell Hill and Smith?

Gee, we REALLY didn’t want or need a savior at QB, until we decided we did, and when we didn’t get him, we don’t need a savior any more.

Interesting stuff. I’m glad the 49ers are making it interesting, at the very least.

This wouldn't be a bad signing at all for the Niners (even though it sucks to be Shaun Hill). This dude just threw for damn near 400 yards in the SuperBowl against the number one rated defense in the NFL. If the 49ers can protect him this would be a very solid pickup. If he's at Stanford getting a physical, they're going to sign him. It's just like when you buy a car and you're getting a smog check...

ummm, its more like you get him to do a physical to meet your standards then you make him a offer based on his physical.

OFFICIAL- Fullback Moran Norris, late of the 0-16 Detroit Lions, is back with the 49ers. He officially signed his three-year, $5 million contract today in Santa Clara.

Norris, an eight-year veteran who turns 31 in June, played two seasons for the 49ers. He was the lead-blocker during the 2006 season when Frank Gore rushed for 1,695 yards.

He said he was able to brace himself last summer for getting cut, as it was clear Zak Keasey was the kind of mobile fullback that then-offensive coordinator Mike Martz preferred in the 49ers' offense. But now the 49ers want to get back to having a big fullback who clears the way for Frank Gore.

Gore never stopped referring to Norris as "my fullback." They are good friends. Even when they weren't on the team, they continued to talk five times a week, Norris said.

But Norris - you might have heard - is not the only visitor today. (Yes, Kurt Warner is visiting. He is getting a physical at Stanford.)

"I haven't talked to Kurt, yet, but I hear he's in the building," Norris said.

When asked about the prospects of Warner joining the 49ers, Norris said, "It would be nice."

I don't want any of the QB's in this year's draft. I don't think any of them are going to be GREAT players, I say both Stafford and Sanchez are going to be pretty good at best.

I really think that we should either negotiate a trade to get Cutler like giving up our 1st round pick since we can't get anyone we really want anyway and potentially another player.

If we don't sign Cutler, I think we should just go with Hill because he's proved that he's somewhat able to run the Niners offense and can only get better.
