A Mendocino County sheriff’s deputy will be charged with driving under the influence following a solo-vehicle rollover on Highway 101 Tuesday night, according to the CHP.

Deputy Tim Goss, 34, was off duty, driving a pickup on Highway 101 south of Willits at 8:30 p.m., when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, CHP Officer Marian Holcomb said.

Goss was cited at the scene for driving under the influence. Goss did not require hospitalization, Holcomb said.

He was released to the custody of another person, she said.

Sheriff Tom Allman said he would not comment on the incident other than to say Goss, who’s been with the department since December 2004, is on paid leave. “It’s a personnel matter,” he said.

how the fuck do you get paid leave and a ticket for a dui?

you cant be a cop voluntarily and be afraid of your damn shadow...you better be ready to die at any moment...but die doing the right thing.. dont be so scared of losing your life that you will dump on anything that moves in the heat of the moment..
AMEN! Cops should become cops knowing that they can be killed to keep the streets safe. It's part of the job, and if they can't accept it, they should become accountants or something.

I heard on the radio there was shots fired..the cops chasing the robbers through an apartment complex and when the cop comes around the corner the kid had a broom or something in his hand....I been in situations where i have had heat pulled on me at point blank...Ive also been in some hairy situations over there in Iraq...its easy to say I would do this or that especially when you are pumped full of adrenaline..and chasing someone.

middle of the night, chasing 4 burglars who could be armed, and he shoots someone. i feel where yall coming from. but being a cop has to be stressful. i feel bad for the mother and wife. but i think that on top of them 4 being robbers, the ones they were chasing should get an extra penalty. cause had they not been robbing someone the police wouldnt have been out and about and that young man wouldnt have died.

the cop should have been able to tell the difference between robbers and a guy protecting his property. this whole situation is a mess.

fucked up shit.

they will.theres already a law in effect that says if ur part of a crime and someone loses their life U get charged with it.wether a cop shoots him or u get in a car accident...example,u go do a drive by with a homie and a rival ends up shooting back at u guys and kills ur homie.U get charged with his death.
