NFL One Step Closer to Los Angeles

INDUSTRY -- The city of Industry's planning commission has approved a proposal for a pro football stadium intended to lure a team back to the Los Angeles area.

The action on Thursday is the latest step in the approval process for the $800 million venue in the industrial and warehousing city 15 miles east of Los Angeles.

Officials with developer Majestic Real Estate Co. have said they'll begin contacting NFL teams about a possible move if the City Council gives final approval to the plan on Feb. 26.

Majestic intends to pay for the stadium with private funds and start construction as soon as a team has committed to playing there.

Neighboring cities concerned about traffic and noise have threatened lawsuits to stop the stadium.

l.a. needs to stop trying to take teams and just make they own team and even then they wouldnt sell tickets. if the raiders couldnt sell out games with winning seasons back then then i dont know who can.

Al Davis will be dead by 2011. I'm guessing the Rams or Bills. If you look at all 32 teams, the only ones I could see moving are those.

The Jaguars have been talked about moving and the city of New Orleans is scrambling to secure funds to keep the Saints in town. I could see either team moving also, more so for the Jaguars.

yeah theirs plenty of teams that are movable at this point....

all teams named in this thread are what come to mind first...i think buffalo will go to Toronto...if anywhere..

Jags have been in real trouble...

stl is also in trouble dont know if they would return to LA tho, that would be pretty retarded..

they need to rename whatever team goes to LA unless it's the Raiders, Rams or Chargers simply because they've either been in LA before or already have LA fans. Chargers makes the most sense since they can still play a game in SD and be able to keep both markets. Bills are gonna be in Toronto by then, they are already playing home games there.
