^^^exactly, I am almost 26 man and I was used to that old style. There comes a point in time when you have to let the old go and except the new. Diversity is what’s selling albums, remaining frugal is not. I know where "smigg can't rap" is coming from though. You miss that mob ass shit. C-Dubb still holding it down for gutta shit like that, and B-Legit going to put out some shit like that too soon. As far as too the mainstream public I think you can expect more and more of this commercial shit. Why you ask? simply because it is what is going to seel and put food in their mouths and on the tables of there familys.

When an artist has a classic album under their belt...the fans will hold them to that standard and expect their next and future albums to be just as good if not better. A classic is just that...a classic and can't and will never be duplicated. Wether it be just a song or a gang of songs from an entire era. The AWOL era for example. I remember what I was doin back then , I remember parties and shit and all the fun. With that said I think a lot of people are just tryna capture nostalgia when they talk about an artists "old" style. Even if they did come with that old style you wouldn't vibe the same off of it as you did then because it was in the air...the atmosphere was different...you can't recreate that.
