You making stuff up now I never said he wanted to dominate the west. I said he was trying to get a buzz over there, so when his album drops cats liek you will be like Im copping it bc he showed the bay luv.
I'm not even from the Bay Homie, or really like a lot of stuff coming out from it either...that's just being real. At the same time I listened to a lot of the older stuff and know some of the history of it. Don't misinterpit as hate, fuckin' word is thrown around too loose now a days. It's the easy way out for a lot of muthaphuckaz that don't like to think, or don't have a good come back to the argument and refuse to shut they mouth.
What I meant in my reply was not to piss you off, or clown ya Mayne LOL!!!! shit don't be so sensetive. My point being that you made it sound like (or I understood it as), "
He just did that to get a West Coast buzz" is what you stated, like the Bay is really hot right now. Like the rest of the world has embraced the Bay with open arms. Shit, I bet there is a lot of people who are still clueless of what artist Nelly is soundin' like in that song. Meaning, nobody thinks the Bay is that hot except the people in it and those in the city's around it. And if anybody is creating a buzz it's Nelly yes, but he's also creating a buzz for the Bay on a much higher level than anybody prior. No other artist has came out and paid homage to the Bay. No artist has even bothered to reflect on the influence the Bay has given them. At least not while they're in their prime...after, yeah you'll hear that they are up there slangin' verses and showing love (hmmmm..yeah).
2Pac, okay yeah, but it's been what? 11-12 years and yet the likes of a Dru Down, Rappin' 4Tay, Richie Rich, The Click (with the exeption of E40) has gone unheard of to the rest of the world. And we're talking what? An album that gone diamond? (All Eyez On Me).
Although I don't care for a lot of stuff coming out from the Bay right now...the Bay deserves their shine. And I'll say it again...they just need to let go of the past and display their talent when they're called upon and quit being bitter in their interviews...because people don't want to hear it anymore. When I read an interview from a Bay Area artist and I start to read, "The Bay has been ripped off for years, it's our turn now, they owe us, it's payback time etc..." I stop reading and throw the shit away...fuck it.
