I wasn't super psyched about the song when it first came out. Then it definitely grew on me and I am a fan.

But you guys need to check this out. While I am not hating on Nelly's verses (I think he does a good job imitating), when there are Bay cats blended on this it sounds DOPE. The beat just sounds cooler, and has a more complete feel to it. Check it out. Apparently its DJ Smerk (who I don't know), but here are the bay verses

1st verse =Keak da sneak - super hyphy
2nd verse = Tip (of Teamknock) - Bases
3rd verse = E-40 - club talk

Anyway I just thought this was hella cool and maybe it would get people excited about a remix or just make them appreciate the song even more.

I think the point your missing (along with a whole lot of other people), is that Nelly is a big name in the Game (like it or not). True, if you, or anybody else unknown to the rest of the world did the exact same song it would more than likely fall on deaf ears.

I think it's more the point that somebody well known did the song that's grabbing the attention of alot of Bay Area people-plus. It's goes both ways though. If Nelly had not did that song and released a single (different song), most people on here would be singing a different tune about Nelly.

I just really hope a lot of Bay Area fans as well as rappers put their pride aside and quit being bitter about every little shit. Nelly has set sail to a big ship...let's just hope some of you fuckers don't make it suffer the same fate as the Titanic.

nelly is smart, He just did that song to get a west coast buzz and support bc his album is getting ready to drop. some niggas can be fooled quickly

LOL!!!! You too make it sound like he's in desparate need of fans. Like if he really wanted to dominate the West Coast (as you stated) I tend to think he would have picked artist like The Game, Dr. Dre, Eazy E even instead of the lesser known to the world Bay Area Legends he chose.

Is this going to be a single from his album? If so that would probably include a video right? That right there would really bring the Bay some shine.
Naw it will bring nelly shine. the young fans these days(teenage females) dont give a damn what territory a artist from or the influences in a song is about. they just worried about two thangs the beats, chorus and the artists appearence.

imo the reason the bay hasnt been back on the radar is bc alot of people are still territorial(more worried bout a region then the music and opportunities itself) yall will be straight if you unite and open up to the rest of the country(You see artists like 40 & Short has been doing that since they been fucking with teh south, but its gonna take a hell of alot more then just them to do it.

You making stuff up now I never said he wanted to dominate the west. I said he was trying to get a buzz over there, so when his album drops cats liek you will be like Im copping it bc he showed the bay luv.

I'm not even from the Bay Homie, or really like a lot of stuff coming out from it either...that's just being real. At the same time I listened to a lot of the older stuff and know some of the history of it. Don't misinterpit as hate, fuckin' word is thrown around too loose now a days. It's the easy way out for a lot of muthaphuckaz that don't like to think, or don't have a good come back to the argument and refuse to shut they mouth.

What I meant in my reply was not to piss you off, or clown ya Mayne LOL!!!! shit don't be so sensetive. My point being that you made it sound like (or I understood it as), "He just did that to get a West Coast buzz" is what you stated, like the Bay is really hot right now. Like the rest of the world has embraced the Bay with open arms. Shit, I bet there is a lot of people who are still clueless of what artist Nelly is soundin' like in that song. Meaning, nobody thinks the Bay is that hot except the people in it and those in the city's around it. And if anybody is creating a buzz it's Nelly yes, but he's also creating a buzz for the Bay on a much higher level than anybody prior. No other artist has came out and paid homage to the Bay. No artist has even bothered to reflect on the influence the Bay has given them. At least not while they're in their prime...after, yeah you'll hear that they are up there slangin' verses and showing love (hmmmm..yeah).

2Pac, okay yeah, but it's been what? 11-12 years and yet the likes of a Dru Down, Rappin' 4Tay, Richie Rich, The Click (with the exeption of E40) has gone unheard of to the rest of the world. And we're talking what? An album that gone diamond? (All Eyez On Me).

Although I don't care for a lot of stuff coming out from the Bay right now...the Bay deserves their shine. And I'll say it again...they just need to let go of the past and display their talent when they're called upon and quit being bitter in their interviews...because people don't want to hear it anymore. When I read an interview from a Bay Area artist and I start to read, "The Bay has been ripped off for years, it's our turn now, they owe us, it's payback time etc..." I stop reading and throw the shit away...fuck it.

If u don't kno of me, I Do Mix's (Some Good Ass Shit Too) and I was going to make one clowning the fuq out of Nelly for doin this song. I personally dislike the traq simply because it sounds like it was made in about 30 mins and 01 sec. All NellY (Thats a funny name) all he did was....ok instead of sampling hit songs like "This Is Why Im Hot" did, he flipped it and sampled/mocked some rappers "Flows/Style/Delivery/Patton"...etc. im really not disapointed about that but this is fuccin "Nelly" the same guy that tried to battle KRS-One but in an around-about way, subliminal-message !! to me that says bitch made right their. thats another story.... but i was gonna clown the song like im doin now but i wanted to see what you guys thought of it, i mean this is my opinion, dudes wac... he's a nick-cannon, marion, the one hit-wonder that never was !!!

i dont kno about you young cats anymore...

I THINK YOU NEED TO REALLY DO A BIT MORE HOMEWORK, BEFORE YOU STEP OUT INTO AN ARENA WHERE YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO LOOSE.

I can digg it...and I do fully understand what you speakin on....but the shit is wack and smelly is not on top at all anymore and this song will take him out....if he don't have anything on his album that's a single that will make him a platinum artist this time around...it's a rap...and that goes for anyone who's on the 2nd 3rd 4th album...this song sounds like that's it for dude....but fuck rap he's got alot of other things online where he's makin real money anyway..props to nelly for the thought and track but my point still stands and maybe I should be more upset with the labels on how the bay is blacklisted...

Real shit Brugh, I think if any artist today goes platinum or gold it's good thing. That's not likely to happen very much with any artist anymore. On a different note, I think the bar has been raised too high by artist and fans alike. If an artist doesn't go platinum the first week, he / she is considered a failure for the most part. I really think it's time to go back to the basics, for real.

To tell the truth, I'm not even a Nelly fan, but I am a realistic kind of dude. I don't like to sweep shit under the rug and act like it's not happening, or didn't happen. In short, I give credit where credit is due.
