So I bought need for speed for ps3 on black friday, pretty cheap. Didnt bother to even look at the back of box, its a racing game, good for 2 players right?

My sons been busy with basketball and such so we didnt even crack it open til last night. pop it in, go through start up etc... ITS ONE FUCKING PLAYER!!!

With 2-8 extra ONLINE!!!!! fuck that shit! it's starting to get ridiculous now that a dad cant play a fucking racing game with his son. and we wonder why kids now a days are fucking anti social and overweight. EA is making kids stay home and play against "friends" online! that is honestly the most retarded thing I have ever seen in a video game ever.

Need for speed was always one of my fav games on the ps and ps2, but now ps3 version, sure you can play cop vs racer against a friend...as long as you arent in same house.

It has great graphics, great gameplay, etc...but 1 fucking player, idiotic. I will be reeutrning it tonight and getting something else. Once again EA proves they would rather ride a name out than to actually improve a product

like i said looks, gameplay etc... great!!!! but who plays a game strictly online? i have real life friends, my son has real life friends, he and I like playing against eachother in games. As always EA misses the boat. between crappy madden releases, and now this. im done with EA.

A fucking racing game where you cant pick it up and play a friend who's over kicking it having a beer?????? a racing game where i cant play my son to unwind after a weekend?????

No offense to anyone here, but if you play strictly "friends" online (in any game), then im sorry, you need to get out more and put the controllers down.

I see what you mean, but usually when I play with friends in real life, we just do system link, so I'm not affected as much as I would be if I played on the same console.

It is fucked up that they chose to leave something out that could have easily been put into the game (and that has been a fundamental part of the series before now).

thats what has me pissed off the most. Every NFS game prior is split screen dual player. Now I buy this and its one player. Should I have looked at the back of the box...maybe, but again its never been single player in history, and with the way games progress is there any reason for one to believe they would regress in this regard?

You're all mad about it. Lots of games are played single player.

While it's unfortunate that the game lacks console multiplayer, there's all kinds of games out there that don't.

I understand you're battling the change of a precedent in previous games, but it happens.

Bioshock 2's multiplayer is all online, unlike Gears or HALO which are immensely more popular games.

No I understand lots of games are out there like that. But seriously, a racing game that is MEANT to be played 2 or more players and yet yo ucant do that offline? idiotic.

And people wonder why kids are anti social and fat now a days. Instead of playing ball eating then playing a couple video games downstairs before heading back out, all these kids know is sitting in room playing "friends" online.

Do you know what Lan is? It looks like this:

If anything its better because you both get your own screens rather than that split screen bullshit..Learn how to do it because it can be a blast man..

You believing a racing game should have multiplayer does not have to do with childhood obesity and antisocial behavior.

DiRT is a single player game, and its multiplayer online was even more ridiculous because you played against 100 people without ever seeing them; you just fought for the quickest lap time.

In the gaming world, nothing is constant. Just because a game that didn't even have the ability to connect via the internet 10 years ago, but had an immersive and fun console multiplayer mode, doesn't mean that it'll retain console multiplayer and add online multiplayer.

The fact remains that a majority of gaming businesses are heavily designing games with online multiplayer in mind, and the campaign and story modes take a back seat.

I will add that despite taking the stance I have on this, I understand your frustration completely, and don't blame you for being annoyed with what you discovered.

I don't really play racing games but your right they make games multiplayer online only in most games they trying to hurry up and make, EA sports and Activision are the main faggots. Games like Halo Reach and Gears of War 1-2, Left 4 Dead series seem to be the only ones giving options on if you want to play Local or Online. The only games with 2 players on Xbox Live with 1 console, 1 game.

Games like EA sports, Call of duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, and all Activision faggots force people to buy a copy of the game because they don't have that 2 player option. People keep buying so the system doesn't change. I still won't support unless the game is half off.

That’s right, Call of Duty: Black Ops will be the first in the franchise to feature a two player splitscreen multiplayer as well as a offline combat training mode. But, a sacrifice seems to have been made, the co-op campaign known from Call of Duty: World at War will not be returning.
Looks like your right, but they took out co-op campaign. It's better than nothing I guess. Gears of War and Halo's, Left 4 Dead you can do everything co-op campaign and Xbox live with 2 players. They still some lazy bastards.
