***First off my hats go off to those Nets, I have gained major respect for that team, pure heart and emotion, not a bad team at all.***
Now, Great Career to Mr. Robinson, I got teary eyes when the buzzer when off at the end, shit I taped the whole thing for memories and shit. David Robinson had a heck of a game, he came out knowing that this would be the opportunity of a life time to take out the Nets on this day. He came out swinging taking rebound after rebound and years of media shouts that he was "soft", its really great to witness the ending of great career difently one of the greatest to play the game.
I can't explain as a resident of San Antonio, people down here are going insane, every channel has live coverage and won't stop showing this until like 3 a.m. shit I have tapes to go for my vcr.
Tim Duncan, incredible those who say he's overated, stop hating, just cause you don't like the team don't mean you have to hate, look I hate the Lakers but I love Kobe Bryant, without a doubt the best talent in the league. Tim Definitely took this game over and brought everything he had to get David, Kerr, Danny, Willis, Smith and everyone else who never had a chance to experiance this.
Jackson, Manu, Bruce, Tony all these guys came from very different locations around the world and some were just not good on other teams being traded often, finally being able to hoist that championship over their heads. That's really great!
Finally, the Nets, great team, gave the 2002-2003 Champs a run for it's money, many people (including myself) believed that the East and the Nets wouldn't be so much trouble, well they were diffently the Spurs nightmare. Jason Kidd left everything he had on the floor, maybe was his last game as a Net, Martin the least favorite character I like from the Nets gave them all he could but finished short. Richard Jefferson was the scariest player of the 1st half, he was doing everything right, Kittles, everyone gave it all they could, great way to go out too, the Nets shouldn't feel bad.
[Really] Finally, The Spurs put this Cinderella story into action, starting the season somewhat ok, they really began their run for the title after the all star game, they defeated teams like the Lakers, Blazers, Kings, Jazz, all the top West teams on the road proving that they were for real, and not a fluke. They were the only team to sweep the 3 time defending Champs in the regular season and finished this game on a 19-0 run that started I believe early in the 4th. David proved that even with age, you still can play, it's good for him to leave on a good note, like John Elway. Thats great because the Legendary John Stocktan, left without ever earing a ring, sad to see that in the NBA.
Well it's over, time to go and celebrate, hopefully some of you mature people can see beyond the teams and celebrate a great team effort and celebrate along with the Spurs.
