Be sure to peep the little presentation to the right of the page!

The congressional maneuvering takes place as governments are growing more interested in implanting technology in ID cards to make them smarter and more secure. The U.S. State Department soon will begin issuing passports with radio frequency identification, or RFID, chips embedded in them, and Virginia may become the first state to glue RFID tags into all its driver's licenses.
Paul warned that the legislation, called the Real ID Act, gives unfettered authority to the Department of Homeland Security to design state ID cards and driver's licenses. Among the possibilities: biometric information such as retinal scans, fingerprints, DNA data and RFID tracking technology.

If you don't know...RFID tags can be read from a satellite in space.

50% of Americans probably don't have a logical mind. Especially those in less educated regions of the country (the south).

It's in plain view, the government wants to be able to track everyone, even if they aren't in this fucking country. I have a problem with that, whether I'm following the law or breaking it. I've talked to people in their 40's about it and the answer is almost ALWAYS, "well I don't break any laws, so what do I have to worry about? I don't care if they tap into my life, I'm not doing anything wrong." And that's what makes me sick. These people are so fucking ignorant that I want to slap them, even though I can't.

If there was a feasable way to change people's minds and educate them about what our government is doing, I would be on it like flies on shit. I dont' think being a reporter or anything in mainstream media will really work, which sucks cause I'm a broadcast journalism major...Maybe I can buy up a TV station and put a bunch of real facts on it and actually educate some people instead of making them mindless drones.

I hate this country for what it does to it's people, but at the same time, the people let it happen. Who's to blame though? The people taking advantage of those willing to be taken advantage of, or those who are just being taken advatnage of? I'm sure it's easy to tell where I stand, but it's a serious question that should be addressed because it would end up showing what types of people we have running our country.....like we already don't know they're shit bags.

Universal’ ID Card Part Of Federal Security Upgrades
Story Number: NNS060918-20
Release Date: 9/18/2006 4:09:00 PM

By Gerry J. Gilmore, American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- New identification cards to be issued to Defense Department employees beginning next month will help standardize workforce identification and security access systems across the government, a senior Defense Department official said here Sept. 15.

The new common access card eventually will be issued to all federal employees and is part of a standardized, secure credentialing system that was mandated after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Mary Dixon, deputy director of the Defense Manpower Data Center in Arlington, Va., said Sept. 15 during a joint interview with American Forces Press Service and the Pentagon Channel.

Starting Oct. 27, the new “super CAC” ID cards will be issued to employees over the next three years as the old cards reach their expiration dates, she said.

The new cards interface with a secure, encrypted credentialing database and are interoperable for personal identification as well as access to federal buildings and facilities, she said.

However, each facility will still determine who is authorized access, Dixon pointed out. Information embedded on the cards is quickly referenced and compared to centrally stored personnel security clearance data, she said.

“It is an effort to try to improve the security in the federal government,” Dixon explained. The new cards also help employees secure their computer networks, she said, as well as providing improved security for federal buildings, military installations and campuses.

“So, I can use this card, not just in the Department of Defense, but it can be read in other agencies,” Dixon said. “If they choose to give me access, they can then read my card,” she said.

The new card features the user’s photograph, like other cards now in circulation, Dixon said. But its computer chip also will contain two encrypted fingerprints, as well as a unique personal identification number.

The new card can be read, either by swiping it or by waving it near a special card reader, she said.

Issuance of the new card has the potential of reducing the number of agency security badges, Dixon said, because federal agencies will refer to a standardized credentialing system. However, agency security administrators still have the authority to approve or deny access.

“The card, on its own, does not entitle you to any access to anything,” Dixon explained. “It is an authentication token.”

“Every time you use the card, it is authenticated, meaning somebody checks to make sure that that card is a ‘good’ card issued in the Department of Defense to you, and that it is still valid,” Dixon said.

As always, employees who believe their government-issued ID card has been lost or stolen are required to notify security administrators, Dixon said, who then deactivate the card.

This ensures that cards reported stolen or missing can’t be used in DoD, she said.

now compare that to the "National ID" card...no difference from the "Universal ID" I like how they change the names.

If only you had basic English comprehension skills.

New identification cards to be issued to Defense Department employees beginning next month will help standardize workforce identification and security access systems across the government,

It mentions nothing about civilians who are not govt. employees.

Your:
Social Security Number
Name and Address
Credit Report
Birth Certificate
Immunization Record
Passport
(possibly) Fingerprints
Criminal Record
(If you are the subject of an FBI investigation) List of Acquaintances

Are ALL on file with the government.

A National ID card matters why? They have them already in several European countries. The MASTER SWITCH has not been pushed yet, I suppose.

I guess the whole "National ID Card" thing with the Tinfoilers must be similar to the "Hidden Messages" in ICP CDs that "juggaloes" listen to.

Soon as you heard about it, you pulled out your secret decoder rings and found another plot!

You motherfuckers have conspiracies relating to: food, jets, cars, planes, the military, civilians, CostCo, paper, trees, rivers, streams, the CIA, the FBI, the Police, chemicals, farms, images of mother mary in walls, etc.

So I guess any topic anyone could bring up can spark a major new "realization" among you.

"What? A National Healthcare System? THATS HOW THEY ARE GOING TO GAIN CONTROL OF OUR BLADDERS! RESIST THE URETHRA CHIP WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT! AFTER KILLING US ALL WITH CHEMICAL TRAILS, CHEMICALS IN OUR FOOD, HALLUCINOGENS IN OUR PAPER, AND THE AIDS VIRUS IN NUMBER 2 PENCILS, THEY WILL MAKE US ALL WET OUR PANTS ON COMMAND!"

In addition, many of the things you advocate (national healthcare system, socialism, many of the reforms in left-leaning capitalist states and communist states) involve MORE ...not Less government involvement.
