Thank you & your welcome.

It was a book on self marketing & it laced me up on a lot of stuff of how to go about it & not break your pocket. As you can see in my pics, I had t-shirts made (advertising my single). I can't remember the exact book due to later losing it, but I been trying real hard to remember because I want to re-read it for a refresher course.

As far as the music goes, it all boils down to entertainment & friendly music. Yes, I'm aware of how people feel about that subject, but the big picture is if you have that hardcore / real music. The cities often times won't want you performing at local events (car shows / festivals / the fair) due to them places being family functions.

Free bottles LOL! Yes, they do in some places, but I like to be on my toes in unfamiliar surroundings, so I stay sober.

Here's another teammate.

I'm taking him along to get him more plays (with that, "Over & Over" song) & work a bigger fan base. I'll be real & say I'm a nobody... I'm just playing different that's all.

I wasn't aware that people still used myspace.
I learned in my abnormal psych class a two semesters ago they did recent research on the users of facebook and myspace. Whites and Asians are most likely to use Facebook. Hispanics are more likely to use myspace. They didn't mention Black folks. So myspace isn't going to die cuz Hispanics are the largest minority in America. The funniest part of the research was people with 900 or more friends on either site tend to be insecure with low self-esteem lol.

I don't use myspace, facebook, etc. (i.e. don't have an account), but when I'm searching new artists, the most convenient way to check out their music is through myspace. And, in fact, if they don't have a myspace I'm far more unlikely to check them out. So, for an artist, it seems myspace is or can be hugely important.

That must mean all the major artist are hella insecure :eyecross:

I think in the music pages it'd be a different opinion. Your statement I think leans more on the regular pages of the regular Jane & Johns. That does make sense.

Nice try, but I'm not buyin'.

truth. Understandable if your trying to market your music but if your a regular person with no music profile or not selling anything and have 60k friends then thats another story.

Okay, okay I already know what some of you may say. "Being a rapper on myspace is the first mistake."

I beg to differ. The internet is the biggest marketing tool... yada yada yada you all know the speech. It's how you use it though.

1. The sound quality to your music is garbage (before converting to mp3). Your mixing & mastering is horrible.

2. Your top friends are either major record labels, major artist, or fake ho's (a clear sign your trying too hard.)

3. You got the hottest song on the radio up on your page, but you just happen to be on the remix :eyecross: And your advertising it like it's real.

4. You are wearing fake bling & adding that extra sparkle on your pic.

5. Your pictures are clearly fake (you don't own the Mercedes). And please, put the cell phone down when your taking pics!

6. A picture of you inside the booth / closet (your point?)

7. Pictures of guns, weed, pills etc... stop exposing!

8. Quotes and pictures of Scarface... hence your layout.

9. Your bio is too long, your cussing on it & the read is boring.

10. Your allowing others to advertise on your page.

Just my 2...

Carry on

you just described my cousin in a nutshell.

Cool. I want to read that book to! I have success in selling things and making money with everything else except music.
So I want to read that book.

I like the things I do to make money and business I do. But it's not fun. Music is what my real passion is. And the few times I did get on stage i got a good reaction from the crowd. There were not my shows. just other people let me on the stage for one song, but the people liked it.

So I'm thinking of recording an album and trying to get some shows. Cause I really want that FREE alcohol. I mean if they pay me like you know 50 60 dollars for the night plus free liqour that would be nice. Plus you can sell CDs at the shows right ?

I understand about doing family events. I think I'll still keep it hardcore, but you know have a couple softer songs for anytime I would do a family event.
But yeah I want to get back into music ... and I REALLY want that free alcohol.. !! (seriously )

Thanks for the tips.. and the info Gemini! Keep up the good work.. !
