Okay, okay I already know what some of you may say. "Being a rapper on myspace is the first mistake."

I beg to differ. The internet is the biggest marketing tool... yada yada yada you all know the speech. It's how you use it though.

1. The sound quality to your music is garbage (before converting to mp3). Your mixing & mastering is horrible.

2. Your top friends are either major record labels, major artist, or fake ho's (a clear sign your trying too hard.)

3. You got the hottest song on the radio up on your page, but you just happen to be on the remix :eyecross: And your advertising it like it's real.

4. You are wearing fake bling & adding that extra sparkle on your pic.

5. Your pictures are clearly fake (you don't own the Mercedes). And please, put the cell phone down when your taking pics!

6. A picture of you inside the booth / closet (your point?)

7. Pictures of guns, weed, pills etc... stop exposing!

8. Quotes and pictures of Scarface... hence your layout.

9. Your bio is too long, your cussing on it & the read is boring.

10. Your allowing others to advertise on your page.

Just my 2...

Carry on

the bios be killing me lol. a lot of rappers even ones i like have these long ass bios and they all almost sound the same. Like the bio is a formula or something. I think you should be clever with your bio.

wtf is myspace?? wtf my calender must be out cos im sure its 2010.....
It is, but only the strong & the ones who play smart survive. I'm getting shows booked off myspace alone (since Jan of this year.) I was booked for a car show in AZ, but the city canceled the show (trust I would of gone). I did a small show out by Bakerfield, CA. on May 1st. and guess what? I got requested back... July 3rd. There is talk of going out to TX, & N.M.

A clear sign of building a fan base. I'm not saying I'm doing it big, but it showed me how I can take advantage of a tool if I make changes & use it right.

I respect people who have no faith in online marketing tools. It leaves more room for others to be seen. Also shows the remainders were not in the game cause it's a fad / the cool thing to do. Which is what it's become. I'm actually glad people are quitting. It's 2010! The real movement begins! Independent at it's finest!

And guess what? I built me a team with rappers in my area (truly talented, great music) and I bring them along & get them booked at the shows as well.

Above all I'm having fun traveling & meeting new people.

Oh, and don't let my screen name fool ya

whats the point of this thread? only mofos who complain about myspace are the muhfuckas who dont be getting any support or dont have any friends and plays.

Exactly my point. Some just don't get though. I'm letting them know how they can change that.

I wasn't aware that people still used myspace.
Gee, I don't know. I get anywhere from 3 to 4 thousand plays a day, comments daily, shit load of messages and over 100 new friends daily. And women adding my songs to their profiles daily. All this just started to pick up recently.

That means the game will not be as saturated. Thank God!

myspace is lame as fuck, but as a artist on the internet you need to use every outlet to its fullest. Just don't spam, you will loose 100% of your potential fans.

There is talk of going out to TX, & N.M.
what part? if you travel through las cruces or El Paso... let me know

Like I said, this just started to pick up recently. I scratched my old myspace page a few years ago and started fresh with a different angle & added new friends. Yes, I been pushing my shit & have had a new look. I read up on self marketing and changed everything from the music to the promotion.

I found that sites like myspace, twitter, youtube etc... are in fact great promotional tools and are FREE!

You just have to know how to use them.

The whole show thing started off slow, but are recently taking off and the people at the shows have been a good turn out outside my area.

nice to see you got davina on a track and tank tycoon wow remember he used to post here he was suppose to drop an album like 3 or 4 years ago was suppose to be a dope comp
A lot of people thought I gave up, but I'm not focused on texting other rappers or letting other rappers know I have a new single / album. Other artist don't give a shit. I seek real people & block bands unless I work with you personally.

Yeah, Tank dropped a mixtape, but that's about it. He and I set back from releasing anything else due to approaching the game from a different angle.

Here are some of the other guy's on my team...

^ I agree with you 100% about other band/artist don't give a shit about you...

focus needs to be on people who have no intention on making music!!!
