Alright I read your whole post since you did mine, but lol @ this^ I said in my message you cannot see whats in the file itself unless you go to the site itself to not only get the torrent link but also info.
Of course you have to go to the site, what.cd and revolution are websites. How in the hell you came up with the idea that I'm arguing against websites in general is beyond me. When I say "http" sites, I am not talking about any and everything with an http address, I am talking about websites based on RS, MU, etc. links as opposed to the use of torrents. Your entire "arguement" (if one chooses to call it that) is based on false pretenses. I am at fault for believing you would be able to decipher between the two.

I posted about a website called what.cd, and you came in here arguing that you have to actually go to the website to get the torrents...

NO SHIT.

Also warez "sister" site which specializes in nothing but quality is very reliable, the main group of people uploading music and movies never have broken links and the info of the files are always well detailed. (There is idiots who just steal others links and often they will go down thats why theres a graveyard but just avoid their uploads lol)
http://hd-bb.org/index.php
Show me a person in this thread that said "warez sites" are not a good thing? I specifically stated this is not about http sites vs. torrents, and that I use http sites often. I went on to say this was about clearing up any misconceptions about torrent sites. Did you read any of that?

The lack of variety is lame though..Torrent sites like Ethereal use are great but to say torrents (sites) are equal to sites is insane, how would you even get your download links if you didn't use the site? At that point all your just doing is choosing who to download from, it would be like choosing between mediafire or megaupload, who cares their both great and work efficiently. Those Ratio seeding/leeching sites are hilarious though, I just download what I need then when my ratio goes below .20 I just leave since I'm done anyways :cheeky:
"At that point all your just doing is choosing who to download from"

I'm not understanding. You don't choose "who" to download from whe using torrents (in terms of peers), and to think a torrent at one site is the same as one at another is completely asinine. Moreover, megaupload and mediafire offer speeds 1/3 as fast as what I get using torrents, not to mention they almost always die. That is very significant. And while ratios do suck, it's not like I have to sit at the computer and really do much. My client minimizes to the tray, and I go on about my business. No slow-downs, nothing.

Also, what if all of your seeders have their internet or computers shut off? Just going to leave your comp on and hope they log on?
In the years I have used these torrent sites, this has happened to me 0 times. I think it's safe to say I don't have to worry about that. I have however, come across countless broken links on sites like warez-bb.

Just in case you still dont get it:

"http" = sites that have movie/music downloads based on http links such as RS, MU, Mediafire.
"torrent sites" = sites that offer torrents to manage the transfering of files between peers.

Smh.

The reason I said that is because some torrents allow you to surf through the files inside the program rather than having to go to websites. I told you that in my first post if you could get info on what you were downloading from the torrent without using a site then I would give you props. Therefor all your doing is using websites and downloading it with a torrent, big deal. I said that in my last post and I will again untill you realize the irony of it. When I make a invalid point let me know, cuz I haven't so far. I think a important question is have you ever used a torrent program that lets you search through the program itself to find a paticular file without having to go to a site? Thats the point I was making all along and I stated that numerous times.

"http" is a vague term since it can apply to any website. So you mean file hosting websites by saying http? One other thing since you said you have never been without seeders, are you sure those torrent links aren't supported by a server? Theres no way you'll always have a seeder standing by to assist your download unless its as big as warez and has a million people.

Does what.cd have a huge database of cd's or something? damn lmao, or your just downloading very popular music everyone else has...

NOT TRUE.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SEEDER STANDING BY WILLING TO ASSIST.
JUST LIKE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE UPLOADERS WHO UPLOAD A GIGS UPON GIGS OF QUALITY PROGRAMS MUSIC AND VIDEOS....

ITS ALL ABOUT THE COMMUNITY YOU FUCK WITH.

Where is the irony in downloading a movie from a torrent site? Maybe if someone came along saying they hate internet browsers, only to use them, would there be any such irony.

I have already shown your invalid point. You say you prefer sites like warez-bb over torrent sites because of [x], where [x] is a straw man fallacy. In other words, there is no truthfulness to [x], rather, a list of false assumptions. You're arguing warez-bb is better; honestly dude, I don't give a fuck. I've been to that site and many others like it (been a member at warez-bb for 3 years). You however, have not been to torrent sites like what.cd and/or revolution, so you really don't have a leg to stand on. But for the sake of arguement, let's say warez-bb is the best site on the internet, that really has nothing to do with this thread.

One other thing since you said you have never been without seeders, are you sure those torrent links aren't supported by a server? Theres no way you'll always have a seeder standing by to assist your download unless its as big as warez and has a million people.
I don't care if my seed is supported by a server. Have you ever heard of a seedbox? They are essentially "servers". And I specificaly stated that torrents without seeds get deleted and eventually re-uploaded, remember? Just like broken links get reuploaded.

Does what.cd have a huge database of cd's or something? damn lmao, or your just downloading very popular music everyone else has...
They have over 138,000 users. As an example, that Zombie EP I posted about before is 4 months old and has 101 seeds to 0 leechers. Their 2007 release "Plagues" has 48 seeds to 0 leechers, and their 2006 release "Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord" has 44 seeds and 0 leechers.

What it comes down to is efficiency. If the site you download from does everything for you, then by all means, stick with it. I'm just trying to offer an alternative that might save you guys time as well as offer something more than what you're used to.

Is slsk still going? I used it for a little while back in the day and I always ran into queue problems and slow downloads. They did have a lot of underground music, though. That was the biggest upside.

I just found myself on W-bb lookin for some stuff yesterday. It's the only site where I've seen Office 2007 "Blue". SO, just want to be clear, every site has it's advantage. Btw that is the best office version imo. The main drawback is the number of links and that some of the sites are paysites, but the link-checker system is pretty damn good.
