Some horrible news and my prayers go out to his family. I thought it was okay to smoke outside of a starbucks, i see people smoke and drink their latte's all the time. If dude picked up the chair the cop couldnt reason with him and talk to him like human being? Its strange that he wouldnt walk back to his car and call for back up where they couldve easily subdued him into proper restraint. 9 years in the force and he just didnt shoot him in the ass, that wouldve been more than enough. And im sure being a cop for 9 years he should know more restraint techniques than just grabbing his gun. He felt he got his ass whooped and needed some fatal reinforcement. And what pisses me off the most is they took testimony to the manager and other employees that are stupid enough to tell a more convincing story to reporters and investigators.
Yea, dude ultimately died over a cigarette. I think I'm going to go smoke in front of that Starbuck's when I get off work. I stay on the WestSide now, this took place a few blocks from where I live, so I know something else could have taken place. I can't drive home at night without seeing at least 5 or 6 cops driving down the same block...cause it's fuckin hot in those neighborhoods right now. Dude could have had backup in less than 3 minutes. He could have pulled his gun and told dude to stand back...and not shot. He could have used his baton, he could have used pepper spray, he could have used his training and flipped dude to the ground and cuffed him.
Starbucks on a Sunday Afternoon, I'm sure there were quite a few people over there. The cop jeopardized all innocent bystanders that were present.
