I don't think a second year player has ever won the award,considering their just getting shit goin.This award is for Donyell Marshall's.Dudes who go 9 and 6 for four years,and then jump to 15 and 9.As far as I know Ellis did'nt even get much run last year,so he has no shot at it.

That's what the award USED to be about. Now the NBA is about creating and promoting the next star player so anybody has a shot at it pretty much.

I haven't been keeping up with Kevin Martin too much. I know he had a fast start this season. Has he slowed down any?

Not at all, consistently putting up 20, shooting higher than 45% and about 38% at threes. Average defender. He went from average 3 points his rookie year, to 11 points a game, and NOW near 21 POINTS A GAME. If he doesn't get it, it's because he doesn't appeal to the standards of an NBA "star".
