I'm gunna listen to both kuts before I make any judgment on this but by reading this all Shea & DJ Mark 7 have good points but if so many people be sayin MSB bit Malice then I am persuaded to believe that... but like I said I am gunna listen to both before I speak on it....

Im not a msb fan and I AM a Malice fan, but I don't really think there was any biting going on. the choruses are not similar enough. The MSB's chorus was simple and didnt really seem to have much thought put into it while Malice's gave it a little extra. It just seems like a case of a popular song being sampled twice. I'd bet there are 10 others throughout califonia and 50 others throughout the nation that are just as similar

If you was gonna sample this song it would be the natural choice to sample it for the purpose of changing it from Sweet Home "Alabama" to Sweet Home "Insert your state here". If you was thinking of samplin that song and it wasn't immediately obvious to you that you was gonna take out Alabama and say your state instead, I would think something is wrong wit ya.

It's always suspect when somebody does something similar to what you did but in this case an argument can be made that it's a coincidence.

We got a list somewhere of all the shit we did that popped up in somebody elses arsenal.

Both tracks are equally innovative in its own form. Malice sure did rip it the way that sample is supposed to. Im sure both camps can come up with a positive solution and possibly colaborate for a remix. Just my dos centavos.

i would call it a coincidence... The shiners are good people and have no intent of bitin any1.

It's sad to see them gettin bashed on this topic, some of you are being unfair about it and jumping to conclusions. Let it ride... where's the Nothern Cali love? :)

I don't think they bit Malice. IMHO the Malice track sounds like a parody (this is a good thing) while the MSB track is more on the lines of removing alabama, adding california and making it a song around that (think of all the different mix tape songs that come from Magnolia Clap).

Great minds think a lot people. I know someone who had a logo being designed for a company they own. It was a hand holding a planet. 2 months later after the design D12 comes with the EXACT same thing as an album cover.

IF they did bite Malice, it should be looked on as a compliment to his work and ability to create a song that someone would even consider biting.

May both parties enjoy success.
