Infinity Ward and Activision are, as you read this, holding a Modern Warfare 2 press conference. Not a press event, a press conference. Must be some good stuff in store. We're there, and through the magic of liveblogging, so are you!

- Microsoft will be releasing a special MW2 version of the Xbox 360, which will be black, include MW2 styling and two wireless controllers.

- And now we're into the game. Multiplayer. It's announced that there are new rewards for killing streaks in the game. 3 kills gets you a UAV. 4 gets you a care package with a random drop.

- New feature called "Callsign", which lets you customise your online account with custom tags, clan emblems, etc. This also lets you create a custom class with a custom weapons loadout.

- Moving onto perks. Creating a custom class also lets you load custom perks, including one called "Scavenger", which lets you get a full resupply from a dead enemy.

fuck that's gonna be awesome.

I was playing WaW today and my squad beat a clan with all level 10 66s in team deathmatch. They had the #2 ranked player in TD lol, name was something like I Got Bullets... Then we got fucked up 4 games in a row.

thought i'd post a quick guide to the new perks, attachments and weapons for the siccness

PERKS

PERK SLOT 1

Sleight Of Hand - same as COD 4 and WAW except it has been moved from slot 2 to slot 1

Scavenger - fully restock grenades and ammo from dead enemies by running over their body

Bling - dual attachments on your gun

Marathon - unlimited sprint (yes, unlimited)

PERK SLOT 2

Lightweight -faster movement speed

Hardline - reduces the number of kills required for a kill streak by one e.g. with this perk equipped you can get a UAV at 2 kills instead of the usual 3

Cold-Blooded - undectable by UAV or thermal scope

PERK SLOT 3

Commando - increases your melee attack range


ATTACHMENTS

attachments in MW2 are not limited to physical attachments on your gun

red dot sight, silencer and acog scope all return

new physical attachments include (but are not limited to) heartbeat sensors and thermal scopes

shotguns and sniper rifles can both be silenced (confirmed because one of the new videos shows a silenced SPAS-12 shotgun)

non-physical attachments include

Akimbo - dual wield your sidearms

Rapid Fire - most likely to be the same thing as the Double Tap perk from previous games

WEAPONS

Primary Weapons

M4A1 - same as M4 Carbine from COD4 but now it doesnt have the big ugly handle on top of it

FAMAS - a 3 round burst fire assault rifle

UMP - a submachine gun

L86 LSW - a big machine gun

Secondary Weapons

these are no longer limited to just pistols, secondary weapons now include shotguns, machine pistols and launchers

SPAS-12 - you all know what this is, shown being used on the favela map and it's silenced

AA-12 - automatic shotgun

Glock 18 - machine pistol

PP-2000 - a machine pistol which looks like an aliens head.. can be seen in a video of the highrise map as a pick up called 'PP-2000 Akimbo' meaning you can hold 2 at the same time for extra happy killing fun

M79 Thumper - a grenade launcher shown in a screenshot of the create a class screen

AT4 - a heat seeking rocket launcher

44 Magnum - you all know what this is, shown being used on a video in the Favela map

NEW KILL STREAK REWARDS

Counter UAV - fucks up the enemy UAV

Care Package/ Air Drop - drops a crate which randomly contains either an ammo supply or a kill streak reward

Sentry Turret - machine gun which fires automatically at enemies when they walk past

Predator Missile - a single missile which falls and you can guide it, you see an ariel view of the map and your enemies are highlighted

also, when the enemy calls a UAV, you can see the UAV flying around and shoot it down

"Experience Boosts Galore. It seems like you get experience point bonuses for doing damn near anything in the new game. I'm not just talking headshots; any stylish or meaningful kill is going to give you some kind of experience boost. Kill a guy just before he's about to get a kill streak? Bonus. Take out the guy who just killed you? Bonus. Get the last kill in a match? Bonus. IW says the leveling (which now caps at level 70) has been tweaked to take the faster accumulation of points into account, and you'll get something gameplay-related for prestiging this time around. They aren't saying what, though."

it's all good i know we're in different time zones and all but we'll have to make a siccness clan and a little private match soon and get to learning the maps lol

double PP-2000 is sick!

also there is another slot 2 perk i forgot to mention in my earlier post

it's called Cold-Blooded and it works against the thermal scope and heartbeat sensor

also when you get a 20 kill streak with this perk equipped you can call rick james and he runs around the map stabbing your enemies
