Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a reality star from VH1's reality show "Megan Wants a Millionaire" and the upcoming "I Love Money 3", was found dead Sunday evening (August 23) near Vancouver, following an international manhunt after his ex-wife was found dead last week.

According to the LA Times, a hotel employee found his body dead from an apparent suicide in Hope, British Columbia. He had hung himself.

"At this present time the investigation into the circumstances of his death is continuing, but preliminary evidence suggests that he took his own life," Canadian officials said in a statement.

Last week, the reality TV star led authorities on a international chase. First, he drove north in a black BMW SUV, and then eluded both U.S. and Canadian law enforcement by racing toward the border in a speedboat.

His boat was discovered in a marina across the border from Vancouver, where Jenkins, a Canadian national, was believed to have family.

The news comes a little more than a week after the naked body of Jenkins' wife, Jasmine Fiore, was found stuffed into a suitcase which had been thrown into a dumpster in Buena Park, California.

Her fingers had been cut off and teeth had been pulled in an attempt to mask her identity. However, her body was identified by authorities by using the serial number on her silicone breast implants.

She was strangled to death.

Jenkins was one of 17 bachelors competing for the love of former "Rock of Love" contestant Megan Hauserman on her own reality show, "Megan Wants a Millionaire." However, the show was pulled off the air and iTunes, and all mentions of the show were deleted from the network's website.

On the site VH1 printed this statement: "Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family."

In the three episodes that aired, he was billed as the "smooth operator" from Canada worth $2.5 million.

He was also scheduled to appear in the third installment of VH1's "I Love Money" series, where reality show contestants compete for cash.

With the recent turn of events, its unclear if the show will even air with Jenkins as a contestant.
