Get a Pioneer DVR 105, it's the best.
Or you can get the new DVR 106, the only difference is that the 106 can burn both + and - DVD media.
The 105 only burns - media. But who cares? DVD-R/DVD-RW media is cheaper and easier to find then DVD+R/DVD+RW media.
They both burn at 4X, so I would probably go for the 105 since it's cheaper.
And if you do get the burner, use DVD-R median and not DVD-RW, it's not as reliable. A lot of times, the games don't burn right.
Oh and use Recordnow Max for burning your games, I like it cuz it's very simple and reliable to use.
The DVR 105 and 106 are OEM versions of the Pioneer DVR A05 and A06 drives. The 105 and 106 is the same drive as the others. The only difference is that they're missing the logos. Who cares? It's cheaper....
And don't trip on frying your PS2 with backups....
If it ever does, you'll just have to replace the rom lense, and that's easy to find. But it doesn't make a difference whether you play O.G.'s or copies....
