Paul Felder vs. Jim Miller, Felice Herrig vs. Paige VanZant added to April's UFC on F

A lightweight matchup of Paul Felder (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Jim Miller (24-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and a women’s strawweight fight of Felice Herrig (10-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Paige VanZant are the newest additions to UFC on FOX 15.

The new contests were announced on Wednesday’s new edition of FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight.”

Featuring a middleweight matchup between top contenders Lyoto Machida and Luke Rokchold, UFC on FOX 15 takes place April 18 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

“The Irish Dragon” Felder made his UFC debut in October, picking up a split-decision win over Jason Saggo. He then stepped in as a short-notice replacement against Danny Castillo at this month’s UFC 182 event, where he picked up a spectacular spinning backfist knockout.

Miller sits at No. 11 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings and has been a perennial contender in the 155-pound division. However, he suffered a disappointing knockout loss to Donald Cerrone this past June and is in need of a win to get back on track.

Herrig was a cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 20,” though she was eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the tournament. Still, she was invited back to the live finale and picked up a submission win via armbar over Lisa Ellis.

She now faces the 20-year-old VanZant, who was selected to be on “The Ultimate Fighter 20″ before she was ruled out because of her young age. She was given a UFC contract, anyway, and she made good on it this past November by scoring a thrilling TKO win over Kallin Curran.

With the additions to the card, UFC on FOX 15 now includes:

Lyoto Machida vs. Luke Rockhold
Felice Herrig vs. Paige VanZant
Paul Felder vs. Jim Miller
Manny Gamburyan vs. Aljamain Sterling

Carla Esparza vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Ross Pearson vs. Sam Stout set for UFC 185

A women’s strawweight title fight between champion Carla Esparza (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Joanna Jedrzejczyk (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and a lightweight matchup between British slugger Ross Pearson (16-8 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and Canadian striker Sam Stout (20-10-1 MMA, 8-9 UFC) have been added to UFC 185.

UFC officials today announced the new pairings, as well as revealing that Esparza vs. Jedrzejczyk will serve as the night’s co-main event.

Featuring a lightweight title fight between champ Anthony Pettis and challenger Rafael dos Anjos, UFC 185 takes place on March 14 at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The bout order hasn’t been finalized.

“The Cookie Monster” Esparza has long been considered one of the best 115-pound fighters in the world. She was the Invicta FC titleholder before her UFC run. In 2014, the 27-year-old signed up as a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 20″ and emerged victorious in the 16-slot tournament after scoring a submission win over Rose Namajunas in the December final to earn the UFC inaugural strawweight belt.

Jedrzejczyk, an undefeated 27-year-old Polish fighter, has rattled off eight consecutive wins since turning pro in May 2012. She made her UFC debut in July and scored a decision win over Juliana Lima before returning in December and scoring a hard-fought split-decision win over Claudia Gadelha to earn the No. 1 contender slot.

“The Real Deal” Pearson, 30, looks to return from a disappointing November loss to Al Iaquinta. With the result, Pearson is 1-2 in his past three fights, though one loss – a decision defeat to Diego Sanchez – was widely considered to be an unfair result.

Meanwhile, “Hands of Stone” Stout, 30, is also 1-2 in his past three appearances with losses to K.J. Noons and James Krause sandwiched around a victory over Cody McKenzie.

With the additions to the card, UFC 185 now includes:

Champ Anthony Pettis vs. Rafael dos Anjos – for UFC lightweight title
Champ Carla Esparza vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk – for UFC strawweight title
Roy Nelson vs. Alistair Overeem
Matt Brown vs. Johny Hendricks
Chris Cariaso vs. Henry Cejudo
Ross Pearson vs. Sam Stout
Ryan Benoit vs. Sergio Pettis
Roger Narvaez vs. Elias Theodorou

Baby Jay Arrested

looks like penn is an angry drunk:
Former UFC champ BJ Penn was arrested in Hawaii this weekend ... after reportedly beating a man so bad in a bar parking lot, the guy was hospitalized for a broken eye socket.

Penn had been boozing at a bar in Maui with a friend when he allegedly began to get aggressive with other bar patrons ... and Penn's buddy tried to step in between and calm the fighter down.

But according to HawaiiNewsNow.com, Penn turned on his pal -- punching him in the face and kneeing him in the forehead.

Penn's friend was so badly injured, he was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a fractured left eye socket.

According to officials, Penn left the scene ... but was taken into custody at a nearby hotel. He was arrested for 2nd degree assault.

Coach: Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor pushed back until 'mid-summer'

Conor McGregor's upcoming title challenge against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will be in Las Vegas, as expected, however talks of a May date appear to have been premature.

Immediately following McGregor's recent win over Dennis Siver, UFC President Dana White announced that the promotion was targeting a slot around Memorial Day weekend for the Irishman's blockbuster title fight. But McGregor's head coach at SBG Ireland, John Kavanagh, said Tuesday that plans have now been pushed back to "mid-summer."

"It's not 100-percent yet. There was talk of a May date. It may now actually be later in the year," Kavanagh told NewsTalk Breakfast. "I get a lot of tweets and messages, people wanting to book their flights. I would just say hold on, hold on until the UFC officially announces. But it does look like it'll be later in the year."

Kavanagh specifically mentioned July as a possible date for the fight.

A 26-year-old featherweight with a brash and loquacious style, McGregor (17-2) is undefeated in the UFC, with four of his five wins ending via TKO stoppage. All four of those finishes also earned McGregor post-fight bonuses for his work.

Following his most recent victory, an effortless second-round TKO over Siver earlier this month, McGregor vaulted into the audience and confronted Aldo (25-1) in the stands. The Brazilian champion, however, was unfazed by the encounter, only smiling and laughing at McGregor's attempts to cause a scene.

Aldo has won 15 straight WEC/UFC fights and reigned over the featherweight division largely unchallenged since winning the belt with a second-round destruction of Mike Brown in Nov. 2009. Of late, he's taken to styling himself as the ‘king' of the division, while painting McGregor as his ‘fool.'

When asked if Aldo-McGregor was finalized for Las Vegas or there was still a chance the fight could be staged in Ireland, Kavanagh said, "I would certainly love [the fight] to be Ireland. Unfortunately, there's a few problems. It would have to be in a stadium, maybe Croke Park.

"The problem with that is you have a curfew. 11 p.m. it has to all shut down. Whereas, they did a big event in Stockholm last weekend. But they didn't start until 2 or 3 a.m. Stockholm time, pay-per-view time in the States. They have a massive drop in revenue and also the cost of setting up Croke Park with all the major screens.

"We're hoping to go over there and win the belt, and then twist their arm a little bit more and get the first defense in Dublin."
