Nope, A-Rod should have got it. Better numbers, better defender. Tejada wasnt even the MVP for his own team. Plus he had Chavez and Dye and Duhram batting next to him. Plus the best pitching staff in the league.

no i disagree because migy made it happen when we were down by about 6 or 7 games he put the spark back in the A's to win the AL West and don't forget when we won 20 in a row, that might have not happen if it wasn't for tejada. So he deserves the MVP in the AL.

It's not a best player in the league award, it's an award that is given to the person who was most valuable to his team. A-rod is the shit, but he only helped the rangers win 70 games. So how and the hell can that make him the MVP if his team didn't rally around him? That is why Miggi got it. He is what brings the A's together, and he helped them win 103 games!

The Rangers don't have the talent the A's have. The pitching staff is a joke. I've seen many games where A-Rod has put them into position to win, just to have the pitcher blow the lead. Say what you want but if the Rangers didn't have A-Rod, they would have won about 5 games this year. Put him on the A's they win the World Series.

If you're gonna give the MVP to somone on the A's it should be Zito.

it's an award that is given to the person who was most valuable to his team.
Exactly...A-Rod is by far the most valuable person to his team. It's not his fault the rest of the team sucks. The A's could still win without Tejada. The Rangers would be far worse without A-Rod.

A-Rod is on a losing team and his team finished 31 games out of first place, he doesn't deserve MVP. He played in absolutely meaningless games, while Tejada was keeping his team in the playoff race. When you lose you don't get awards, that's the way it works. Tejada is defenitely the most valuable player.

Explain how he's the most valuable player to his team when his team is in last place? Obviously he's not the most valuable to his team if they're not winning. If you take A-Rod off the Rangers who gives a fuck, they suck anyways. Taking A-Rod off the Rangers changes nothing, because they're a non factor in baseball.

This award is all fucked up

This award changed from "BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE",to "BEST PLAYER,WHO HAS 20 OTHER GOOD PLAYERS AROUND HIM TO WIN IT" b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t !

This award used to go to the best player, regardless of record of a "full team"?Your giving out an individual award,to something that's based on the play of your teamates now. Most Valuable Player....?......for his team?or to any American League team(BINGO)?

A-Rod's the best player in the A.L.,that's who the "Most Valuable Player" is!!!

His team is in last place cause no one else contributes beside him. Unlike in other sports, in baseball you need a whole lot more then 1 great player.

The team is still in last place, it's not Tejada's fault his team is struggling. The award is not called the most outstanding player. Barry Bonds had one of the greatest World Series ever, but they didn't give him the MVP did they. Because his team lost, end of story. LOSING= no MVP's

Naw not so great gatsby, u are wrong on this one!! Let me guess...u are an A's fans huh?? But anyway Bammer hit it on the nose!! A-Rod is light years better than Tejada!! And on that B. Bonds thing, T. Glaus was just as good as Bonds in the series!! And to be honest, it is the world series homie, best of 7, So that is when the best player on the winnin team should get it!! Its the ultimate goal folks!! But when u play 162 games dogg, the mvp goes to the best player with historic numbers...and that player my friend is A-Rod!!!!!!! GOT EM!!!!
