Cotto leaves his chin exposed... We all saw what Zab did to Cotto... Zab could have easily won that fight. Shane won't fade like Zab did/does in big fights.

I'm taking Mosley to win in a lopsided decision...sounds wierd, but Mosley is lightyears ahead of Cotto, and that's not knocking Cotto.

MOSLEY > > > > > Cotto.

Mosley UD.

Cotto's Strengths:

* Great pressure fighter, one of the best in the business
* One of the best at cutting off the ring
* Great power, knockout power in both hands
* Great bodywork, and really commits to his punches
* Very physical, can bang on the inside, and knows how to close the gap
* Brings fight from opening bell 'til the end

Cotto's Weaknesses:

* Doesn't give a lot of angles, most just forward and backwards
* Lunges in a lot to throw the jab, leaving him open for straight shots
* Pressure style leaves him open a lot
* Suspect defense, leaves hands very low in later rounds

Mosley's Strengths:

* Great hand speed
* Great combination puncher
* High volume of punches, and very accurate shots
* Power in both hands, good jab, and excellent counter right
* Great bodywork
* Good conditioning
* Killer instinct, he knows how to finish, and when to turn up the heat when he smells blood

Mosley's Weaknesses:

* Defense is questionable
* Lacks knockout power
* Father time is not on his side

I think the 2 choices that jump out at you are Mosley decision or Cotto KO. I'm undecided right now so I can't vote. I'm leaning towards the Mosley diecision, but it wouldn't shock me at all if Cotto caught him. Everyone thought Mosley was done a few years ago and then he cam back strong, but will his age catch up with him???

Adding on to Cotto's weaknesses:

* Suspect chin
* Not adaptable
* Lacks experience in high profile fights

Adding to Mosley's weaknesses (tho I disagree about him not having knock out power, which he does):

* Not as active
* Stamina is questionable, compared to Cotto's
* Hasn't beaten an elite or top level fighter since DLH

Given Mosley's adaptability, work rate and speed, I'd be leaning towards Mosley for UD, but a TKO or close UD for Cotto isn't out of the question..

I'm going with Mosley in a UD. He's just too fast and too skilled for Cotto, even at this point in his career. As much as I like Cotto, I just don't think he brings anything to the table that Mosley can't overcome. It also wouldn't suprise me to see Shane put together a nice combo that hurts Cotto and ends the fight with a TKO... I believe Shane realizes that he's nearing the end of his career and a huge fight is looming in the near future as long as he's victorious, and with that being said I see him coming into this fight and taking care of business.

Shane by UD or late TKO.

CASAMAYOR TO RETURN ON NOVEMBER 10!
By G. Leon

According to Golden Boy Promotions, world lightweight champion Joel Casamyor will return to the ring on November 10 as part of the televised undercard to the Cotto-Mosley mega-fight at Madison Square Garden. As this goes to print, WBC #1 rated lightweight Armando Santa Cruz appears to be the frontrunner to be Casamayor's opponent.

Casamayor's pretty sick. I'd probably have him ranked top 10 P4P if he were more active in the last couple years...

This is why I think Mosley is going to lose!!

Shane Mosley Plans To Slug With Miguel Cotto

Forget boxing, former three-division champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (44-4, 37 KOs) is planning for a toe-to-toe war when he meets undefeated WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (30-0, 25 KOs) on Nov. 10 in New York's Madison Square Garden. Mosley tells BoxingScene.com that he considers himself to be the bigger man and plans to prove that in the ring.

"I can be a brutal fight if I allow it to be a brutal fight, which I probably will. I love to fight and I think I'm the bigger man any way, coming down from 154-pounds. He weighs more, but I lose a lot of muscle mass when coming down to 147. I've been in the ring with 154-pounders, 160-pounders. Winky Wright just fought at 170. These were big guys. Fernando Vargas was a pretty good puncher, he knocked Felix Trinidad down and I took his punches very well," Mosley said. "I'm pretty strong and physically I have a strong armor around me to with his type of punching power."

"I'm still going to fight an intelligent fight, but I'm not going to run away from an opponent all night and dance. That makes the fight boring for the fans and myself."

Mosley feels that he possesses all of the physical advantages to beat Cotto.

"I believe I'm much faster than he is with my feet, and I feel my hand speed is a little faster than his as well," Mosley said. "He has decent speed, but it goes up and down. I've seen that he gets hit early, he starts slow. He consistent with his attack. Everything he throws is from his left side, he has a strong left hand. He's a wide puncher. I think his arms are shorter than mine."

Cotto has been rocked in several of his memorable fights Fighters like Demarcus "Chop Chop" Corley and Ricardo Torres were unable to finish him off. Mosley says that he will finish Cotto if he gets him in trouble.

"A lot of those guys like Chop Chop Corley were basically too small. Torres was not in the best of shape to finish him off and I think Zab Judah was not in the best of shape to finish him off as well," Mosley said. "These guys tire from three or four rounds and then can't finish him off because they don't have the energy to jump on him and do what they need to do to finish the job. I think Torres had two-weeks notice to fight Cotto and couldn't finish him off beause he didn't have the stamina."

It's like when Sugar Ray Leonard told everyone he was going to slug it out with Duran before their first fight. Not a smart move for the quicker, better boxer to slug it out with a stronger, heavy hitting opponent!
