The Bear's will draft a QB as their first pick in the draft. This teams offense is in shambles. They are probably looking to rebuild the offense without a question. Grossman was an experiment which didn't pan out as expected. Benson is just a overweight bust who has no cut back ability. Their WR's are underacheivers other than Berrian and their only playmaker Hester.

If they can get a top 5 QB in the draft, and a WR, then sign Turner during the off season, then this team has a chance to bounce back to becoming contenders. Their defensive stars need to stay healthy tho. And losing Briggs will have an impact.

Their division is tough now. Minnesota is emerging into a contender if only Tarvaris Jackson can stay consistent. And Detroit is a big question mark all over again. And we already know what GB can do.

Good points. Regarding Briggs, I'm not too worried if he leaves. His back up is this guy named Jamar Williams (from Arizona State) who looks very impressive, he had like 8 tackles in 15 plays when Briggs was briefly out during a game.

The only thing about drafting a QB, which I agree they probably will first round, what are they going to do about '08? Orton? Rex?

the rumors are still there, they don't ever seem to go away. He was born and raised in south side Chicago so I know there is interest from both the fans and McNabb himself.

Personally I'm not sure how well he could do in Chicago at this point in his career, however it would definitely generate excitement and lots of interest, at least in the beginning.

you havent been following turner if your saying "at this point in his career"....point blank burner is a beast, the guy runs hard and has always had a good yard per carry average when we put him in.he's a bonafide starter on any other team,he would do well in chicago, believe that.

The one thing Da Bears HAVE to do is begin rebuilding the O-Line. Kreutz and Tait are really the only guys I'd like to keep around, and both are getting old and Tait was hurt a lot this year. Garza, Metcalf and Brown suck.

I think the average age for Chicago's o-line is 64. lol, I agree though.

Which sucks because they need:
QB
RB
O-line
Receiver

This is the result of drafting so many defensive players every year. Last year they drafted two CB's and they already had Vasher and Tillman!

If I was GM I would draft Woodson and Slaton, franchise Briggs and trade him for Ocho Cinco, and spend all the cap room on an O-Line and maybe a safety if there's enough.
The only thing they're 100% set on is the CBs and TEs... And kick returner.

Or they could get Turner and trade for Sam Hurd, then sign PJ Fleck and Shatone Powers and move the team to Dekalb.

They won't franchise Briggs because they made the deal with him last year that if he signed the one year deal, they wouldn't franchise him again. As far as drafting a qb, as dumb as it sounds, I see the Bears selecting a Safety or OT, re-signing Grossman, and letting Orton and Grossman battle it out for the starting position. Berrian is also a FA and he is monitoring the Bears qb situation. I would love to see the Bears pick up Turner, try and make a deal for McNabb, resign Berrian, and go after A Faneca. I would love to see Briggs come back as well, but they have 20 mil to spend on FA's of there own, upgrades, and draft picks. We'll see what happens.

^^^^Chicago is projected to select 14th in the draft. You might be right. Chi might be selecting an OT as their first selection. The QB and RB class is pretty deep this year. Same can't be said for WR's.

I don't see them signing Faneca at all if they were to pick up any big name free agents in the off season. Faneca is going to want alot of money ($40+ million long term) + a signing bonus. If they sign Faneca they will have to address their other needs in the draft.

I know about Faneca, it's wishful thinking, I've seen some mock drafts where they said the Bears are interested in Kenny Phillips from Miami with the 14th pick. I know ESPN has the Bears selecting Woodson, but I think that the Bears when healthy have as good a shot at getting back to the Super Bowl in the NFC next year as anyone, so that means picking someone that can contribute right now, not 3 or 4 years from now. And you never know, maybe McNabb was lobbying to get out of Philly with those comments about his team needing playmakers.
