What a great double-header. Kudos Showtime.

Green looked like he was a bit weary, and was backpedaling and not throwing anything significant. Johnson is going to be a tough fight for anyone.

JuanMa-Rafa was a great fight. Rafa started to land that left hook, as JuanMa started lunging in with his right hook. JuanMa made the adjustment, and started to really impose himself on Rafa, even though Rafa would land good counters in between.

damn, lopez-marquez was probably best fight of the year so far. Both guys showed a ton of heart being hurt taking huge shot after shot.

green continues to prove he sucks. johnson looked pretty much the same as he always does.

judah on hbo was whack, fought stupid and damn near lost. idiot.

Yeah Johnson didn't really look any different besides the fact that he fought Green, who's not very good. It's a shame that Marquez had to go out on an injury that fight had the potential to be something real special. Marquez still seemed to be able to wobble Lopez if he caught him in exchanges with shots he didn't see.

.. on HBO, Guerrero looked real good for the first 6 rounds of the fight against Escobedo hurting him badly, dropping him 3 times (only 2 getting called), and then for some reason just stopped and started coasting again and let Escobedo get some work done against him in the last rounds even though it didn't mean much and Guerrero got a clean UD.

.. and I thought Matthysse beat Judah, narrowly, and was hoping he'd get the nod in the fight. He smothered himself after he had Judah hurt which is a shame because he probably could've gotten rid of Judah instead of dealing with the cards.

So Lopez won?

Dam johnson knocced out green? Haha! Dude thinks he's the shit and he fuccin succs, that's why I don't like green...

Why is it everytime in his fights, judah looks good for half the fight, winning or losing then jus looks like he gives up, starts going wild with his punches, instead of sticcing 2 the gameplan, iam not happy at all with judah's win as well as himself being happy with that performance

It was a great fight. It was kind of a role reversal though as far as Mex vs. PR fights go, at least in the battles I've seen, usually the Mexican fighter stalks the slicker PR fighter, But JuanMa was the aggressor for most of the fight.

I'm also 'concerned' for Lopez...lol...His chin held up well but the holes in his defense must be corrected SOON.

Lopez was just too big for Marquez still a very good fight. The Road Warrior beat up Green like I thought he would. Zudah just sucks. Guerrero does not look good at the higher weight his power didn't follow him. The HBO card was boring overall, Showtime came with it.

Man, I was wrong on my prediction but it was a good fight. I was pretty critical of Marquez but I think maybe his right shoulder injury was legit. That's usually his money punch and it seemed like he rarely threw it compared to how much he normally throws it.

Good fight though. For as many punches as Lopez landed, it was still a close fight somehow. They both hurt each other often it seemed like

Lopez quote after the fight:

"I thought Marquez would come to trade. He didn't show me that. He's a good boxer, but he is not a warrior. I didn't want to knock him out fast because I wanted to show everyone I have good condition. Knocking people out is good, but I didn't only beat him, I RIPPED HIS HEART OUT. That's why he quit".

He also said:

"It seems Marquez's arm has a cable that is connected to his heart. One gives out, the other one follows."

"I may not have knocked him out, but I ripped his heart out. If he was such a Mexican warrior, he would have finished the fight, instead of quitting. I made him quit."

Rafael Marquez To Be Out For Six Months, Hairline Fracture

By Alfredo Jaime Gomez, notifight.com

Featherweight Rafael Marquez will be out of action for six months due to the injury he suffered to his right shoulder during Saturday's exciting fight against Puerto Rican southpaw Juan Manuel Lopez, the WBO featherweight. The fight happened at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The injury prevent Marquez from being able to come out for the ninth round. The recovery period will prevent Marquez from fighting Lopez in a possible March rematch.

"The doctor said I have a hairline fracture in the right shoulder blade. He recommended a rest period of 180-days," Marquez said.

Marquez says the referee Tony Weeks saved Lopez from a possible knockout loss in the fourth round. He knew at that point it was going to be a long fight after suffering the injury in the third.

"In that round I could have knocked Lopez out, but the referee did him a favor by giving him about 45 seconds to recover when he penalized him a point for the fouls. I knew at that time it was all or nothing," Marquez said. "Had it not been for the injury in the third round, I think in the ninth or tenth I would have stopped Juanma."

this is so contrary to everything i'd read that he said
