I have said this before in the past, but I need to say it again. He is definitely one of the sickest rappers out of the bay as far as style and spittin on the micfor sure, however, the production on his albums suck. I am so tired of hearing his new albums and hearing nothign but R&B beats on it with Mess rippin it up.

He is the best with hard ass beats. I wish he got production like Quinn and Big Rich have and then he would be unstoppable. I like him a lot on Explosive Mode #2, because the beats are hard.

Mess is definitely a boss, but in order to take his game to the next level, I think he should go talk to Mal Amazing, Sean T, etc. for some good hard beats.

Any of you guys feel me on this? I am a big fan of him rappin on compilations and duos with Quinn, however I just don't dig his R&B albums.

Marv always has tight beats on his shit IONO what you are talking about
All his solo shit has slow ass R&B beats on it and I just don't feel it. He is top 2 in the bay IMO when he is rapping on a tight ass beat. His solo beats are just below average to me.

For example, I just put on Bandannas, Tattoes and toungue rings and the 1st 6 tracks are all slow and r&b. He has way too much fire to be rappin on these gay beats. I like when he raps to faster harder beats, not this slow r&b gay beats. Listen to these 1st 6 songs then listen to the good songs on Explosive Mode #2 and you will know what Im talking about. He tears it up on Direct Connect! I would like him to rap like he does to that beat on that song.

I am just giving him some constructive criticism here. Like I said, he is one of my favorites from the bay, but his solo albums just bore me.

well thats not really his beat album but it still has some decent production on it

2 to the neck had a tight ass beat
Song after that slapped smooth but still hella nice
the flip song was cool
the bad breath song had a cool batchy beat
the mac dre tribute beat was hella nice
the momma song has got a nice beat on as well
Get on my hype was cool too

Marv is always one of the top sellers in the bay, I think dude has agood formula and i doubt hes gonna stray too far from what has been working for him for years

^^^^ I feel you man... The beat on 50explanation, Guce and him ripped that shit.. And What The Homie Provide with Kurupt & JET, that beat is hard too.. I would really like to hear him over some Mal, even like feature...

And what happened to his verse from BigRich's Lay It Down? It must be sick... Will we ever heard that version?

I totally disagree! I just listened to it again and it's all slow gay ass beats. You compare these songs to the Explosive Mode #2 and no doubt his best music is on the Explosive mode with the good beats. He is one of the hardest rappers out of the bay, but you would never know it from his wack beats. He raps too slow on his solo stuff and his beats are too slow. Get him on some sick ass killer hard beats and he tears it up like no other.

That's fine if he wants to stay where he is at as far as selling and stuff, but if he would like to take him game to the next level i think he needs to get some fire in the production area. He has way too much talent to be wasting it on those weak beats!

I am a real Mess fan. I just dont dig his solo stuff as much as his colab stuff. He is sick with his flow and his lyrics, but my point is that I feel he need a little bit better production with some harder beats. I would not have said he was one of my favorites if I wasnt a fan. If he made a cd with all hard beats to it, he can tear almost everyone rapper up on the mic. He is raw!
