Hits and injuries are a part of the game. If it was an illegal shot then why wasn't a flag thrown? Why did your genenral manager and some of your players say it was legal? Why should there be remorse? He said he wasn't trying to hurt anybody he was just playing football. He's been known to hit all of his life. Where did you hear he was suspended for three games?
But when Eric Johnson broke his collarbone, a whole new concern ruined another solid win.

CARTER CLEARED: Saints cornerback Dale Carter will not be fined for his hit that injured San Francisco tight end Eric Johnson in New Orleans' preseason game against the 49ers on Saturday, the NFL ruled. Carter's hit, which occurred on the first play and fractured Johnson's collarbone, was ruled a legal tackle, an NFL spokesman said. Johnson's injury is expected to sideline him for 10-12 weeks. The 49ers asked the league office to review the play and determine if Carter's helmet-first hit was within the rules.
