So black folks are like Pavlov's dog? The white man rings a bell and watches them self-destruct??

The mighty white man seems to be worthy of black folks worship (such as Paris's), seeing that he is cunning and powerful enough to exert this perpetual "conditioning" on them.

Those lyrics are definitely on point, he's spittin some real shit. Vyasadeva, he's covering a lot of tha problems that's goin on in tha Black community, and tha bullshit many of us face as a result of tha past and present. He's also talkin about how corrupt tha media is, and tha negative effects it's havin on us. He's not saying that tha white man is some powerful unstoppable muthafucka who can destroy anyone.

The shit is nice, I agree, I have bumped his shit for years and even though I disagee with the conclusion he draws with regards to all the ills of the world, I think he is definitely a notch above the average "mc".

"He's not saying that tha white man is some powerful unstoppable muthafucka who can destroy anyone."

"See if I was wicked I would pick and stick to a plan
To rule the world and trick ‘em, this is how it’d begin

See I’d have to find a way to keep the people enslaved
Behave, teach the babies it’s my way or the grave"
- Paris

Now this is basically saying "it's a white man's world", and he has been in control of the entire situation from the beginning. He tricked the world into believing he doesn't exist, but actually he is the devil, master manipulator, blah blah blah. This is attributing a great amount of power and influence to the white man, seeing as he has supposedly succeeded and continues to succeed in his goals.

I understand he touches on the corruption of media, politics, etc., and he is on point on that shit. But we can do that all day because politics and media are themselves simply collections of corrupted people. In a capitalist society the pervading mentality is that ends justify means, and if corruption means more capital, it will run rampant. Since corruption runs rampant at the individual level, then when groups of corrupt people form boards and committees and governments these corruptions inherently manifest in deals and negotiations, lawmaking and justice, and the result is compromised integrity and a public which becomes inconceivably cynical to the whole process. And rightly so. So the public is corrupt and they are angry that the system they use to govern themselves is corrupt.

But the point Paris is making is that the devil is the cause of the conditions we are in because he has been pulling strings from the beginning. And the devil is the white man. The white man sure has done devilish things. So have brown men, black men, yellow men, red men, etc. The propensity for evil actions is present in every human, regardless of race or sex or nationality. To assign this primal and molecular level wellspring of evil to a particular skin color is just nonsensical. Realize the white man has no more power than any other man on the planet. Control is an illusion. There is a scene from Instinct, where Anthony Hopkins snatches Cuba Gooding jr. up and shows him that the control he thought he had was an illusion. The control of the guards outside is an illusion. So the question becomes "who is in control?", and according to this song the Devil is in control. He is responsible for countless ancient and current generations which idolize materialism and hedonism. He is responsible for drug addiction. He is responsible for prostitution. These are major things to have on your resume. But the truth is, these ills are inherent in the material realm, and *capitalism* is what is responsible for the ever-pervasive and expansive growth of moral decay and the subsequent street-level apocalypse that Paris is talking about. It is not the white man's fault that clowns by the thousands are breaking themselves to floss on spinning wheels and Jacob jewelery. This propensity to posess and display opulence is in us because it is in the Supreme Lord. He is actually the posessor and displayer of everything. We are similar to a distorted reflection, imitating Him in His activities. Instead of offer our any and everything to the Lord, realizing that He is actually the provider and maintainer and proprietor of everything, we constantly covet shit and perpetually crave more and more. There is no end to our greed and lust. So much do I have today, and so much more will I gain tomorrow. Thus in the absence of a common understanding of the actual proprietor of all things within the universe and without, we find deceit, thievery, violence, dishonesty, etc. These conditions are inherent in this material realm.

Yeah, whitey has ridden the wave well, and like everyone else, he is corrupted. Dope cut, but the problem of evil is bigger than white guys.

Vyasadeva,

You missing what paris is saying, See paris ain't thinkin all white folkz is the ones in control, just happens the one who is controlling that capitalism your speakin on happen to be white. i'm sure he'd throw in a few blacks in the same category as the white folkz he speaks on.

What you dont know is that paris is finna have a problem with the rich black folkz who ain't givin a shit bout equality for races as well, but as history has shown not all folkz is like that. damn im high off this hop for realz tho.. i know i aint might not be makin sence but shit i'm tellin u for real whats up... you should drop paris a email [email protected] he'll better explain the situtation at hand.. you talkin as tho paris is on some sort of crusade to attack all white folkz regardless of who they is, but u see paris beef aint with the average middle class white folk whose to stupid to know shit bout whats realy goin on in this world his beef be with the white folkz you dont see who be owning the multinational corporations and pullin the strings in the white house. You actin like he sayin all white folkz is doin some shady business..

for realz if it wasn't for folkz like paris back in the days of old we'd still see black folkz wearing chains workin the land for free.. understand?

I know Paris doesn't think *all* white people are the ones in control. There are many white people in this country with less power and who are more poverty stricken than most blacks, and Paris knows about them. Yes he is talking about the ones at the top of the pyramid. But if you look at the song, the clear implication is that this whole deteriotated and evil condition was *set in motion* by a master plan which was premeditated and which was the initial intent of the "white man".

"See if I was wicked I would pick and stick to a plan
To rule the world and trick ‘em, this is how it’d begin

See I’d have to find a way to keep the people enslaved
Behave, teach the babies it’s my way or the grave"

This is not saying that the white man "just happens to be the one who is controlling that capitalism your speakin on." This is saying that the white man invented capitalism, invented lust, invented deception, invented thievery, invented lies, etc., and it was all part of his plan from the beginning.

Then he says that Christ-centric religions are the invention and tools of oppression of the white man.

"Then I’d tell ‘em that the Afterlife is better than this
And that they should love their enemies when faced with contempt"

Which is ironic since those promoting Jihad are known to promise some ridiculous amount of virgin pussy and eternal glorification in the Afterlife should you go out as a martyr.

Paris is attacking all white folks, but he is doing so intelligently by focusing on the supposed original "behind the scenes" ones who were the original devil and who actually formulated this great plan. The song is called "Evil", and the whole premise is that some wicked person decided to craft a master plan of genocide, trickery, depravity, etc., and that person is the white man.

The shit is all good, blame whoever you want. Like I said, we can all sit around pointing our fingers at everybody all day long, because we are ALL guilty of doing evil, immoral, or unethical shit.

But when you conclude that the *existence* of evil in the first place is due to the skin color of a particular human, you have stepped away from logical debate into fanatical dogmatism.

"See if I was wicked I would pick and stick to a plan
To rule the world and trick ‘em, this is how it’d begin"

I told you, I appreciate Paris' music and his right to express himself however he wants. I just think for all his finger pointing and rhetoric his message is too oversimplified and generalized.
