Thats one of Henry Lizardlovers iguanas. Google him, he gets his Igs to do some dope ass shit.
Actually that was a Chinese Water Dragon which is completely unrelated from Igunanas... I had one for almost 10yrs and it got mistaken for an Iguana all the time...

The big difference is that in addition to veggies, Water Dragons eat insects and small rodents as well...

They are also a lot smaller than Iguanas - about 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 ft in length...

Right now I have an Australian Water Dragon which looks just like HAL except he is brown...

If anybody is interested in getting a Water Dragon, I would strongly reccomend getting the Australian over the Chinese, as they are more resistant to disease and are much more tolerant of cold weather.... You might wanna look into raising those Dana, cuz you don't need a nighttime heater and the babies can go for much more than iguanas... Plus iguanas so big that many get abandoned by their owners...

God, it really sucks that the main US authority on Iguanas doesn\'t know what the hell hes talking about then, because that pic came straight off of his website, where he talks in great lengths about his iguanas.

oh, and i dont raise em to sell, I raise them to keep. I have had 5 in my life, with 2 of them being 6 feet long. They died from depression though, which really sucked.

Dana - you're a boss but...

I'm dead serious... that (the first pic 50 Cal put up) is not an Iguana...

I've had Water Dragons since '97 and people get them confused with Iguanas all the time... If you look closely you can see a noticable difference...

Here's a Water Dragon

... and here's an Iguana

The best place to look is under the throat... and the eyes are different as well...

Yo, I'm also sorry to hear about your Igaunas... I'm sure you did the best that you could... my Uncle had a pair of Frilled Dragons and they died of depression as well...

That is one of the reason's why I would encourage folks who want a HAL in their house, and are thinking of getting an Iguana as a pet - to think about going for a Water Dragon (Austalian) instead... Iguanas need to be treated like family, while Dragons can be emotionally neglected and do just fine (not saying you did that Dana, I'm speaking to folks that ain't never had a HAL !!!) ...

I also encourage those who have Aus Water Dragons to breed so that the captive population remains healthy - which means folks won't go tryin to remove them from their native habitat... I speak in financial terms first - cuz for better or worse, that's the language most folks understand...

One of the few things I give a fuck about these days is some of the other lifeforms on this planet that don't have a voice...

Holla at ol' boy if you get a chance Dana and see if he has any Australian Water Dragons... them MFz are sick!

Mine looks something like this:
