I can damn near bet the bank the only reason Young Hottie iz messing with So Icey iz cuz of the love he has for El Dorado...El from N.Y. but he stay N the Atl now and rap like he from down south too...his chit don't even slapp anymore...
It's gotten kinda hard to pin-point out who iz authentic and who iz a buster N this new-age rap bangin' chit...you gott solid niggaz sending out mixed signals...clouding the consumers minds by dissing certain types but then doing video cameo's and features with the same type of wing-dings they dissed...it hurts to scee our culture being watered down by $$$...no loyalty anymore...rappers we kno or believe to be factors N the streetz seem to be making industry moves but they are not following what they preach...the creed of a thoroughbred iz slowly crumbling...
Foo's getting passes on the strength of muzicc or personal relationships to represent something they kno nothing about and putting it out there for others to hopp on board...when the stakes get high and niggaz start getting dropped like flies I wanna scee who iz still riding for the cause!!!
Hootie sent me some tracks that I posted up.. S.H.I.T was dope, sent it to Black Mikey.. and he called me the other day after giving it a listen.. he was blow away by it. 142 was dope... he got some other shit. As for him fucking wid So Icey, he tells me they cool as hell and they got shows... I'd expect him to change a bit.. just the guys giving him beats have that southern influence.. but to me Hootie is still a beast... I know a few MC's that can change styles like clothes just to match the beat/crowd/other's energy.
I think its not more about who's real, as in bangin.. but more who is solid and what they can do for you. Like Lil Wayne and Mitchy.
I used to judge waka flocka hard... but in his interviews... I see nothing but a solid person because its real talk and how he handles things... that kinda shit, to me atleast, demands respect. Plus, he's doing what I feel he should do in music, if you are bangin.. he's paying respects. He's fuckin wid Hootie and inturn offered verses to redrum 781...
But just like anything, bangin and music are different things... different formulas to succeed comes with being open minded and understanding the changin of times. We all see how bad the music industry is, as far as commercial and mainstream.. and also many top artists aint wanting to help others...
I always say its up to the underground and street artists to make something so powerful, that its noticed.. and the fans start to question why these underground rappers are not being played.
And with that, you'll have to blur the lines within the urban wars in order to do something positive.
