Can someone explain to me...or show me a article...that's clarifies what, "We are doing everything on our side to make the fight" means? I read Dan Rafieds article and to me it just sounds like a blanket statement with no detail.
Did Pacquiao accept the May 2nd date?
Did Arum accept the May 2nd date?
Did Arum accept the 60/40 split that was "reportedly" offered by Mayweather?
If the answer to these above questions are "no" or "I don't know"...then what has Team Pacquaio done in regardes to "everything" to make this fight happen?
Like I said before, the general public (us) has little to no information out there. All we have are u reporter's like Rafael and the likes who may have more information that they cannot release to the public, or maybe it's based on "inside sources" shit like that.
Until there is concrete proof of something, it's all speculation on our parts. We just have to wait and see what happens.
There have been numerous, very credible people however stating that Haymon has reached out to Cotto. This is hard for me to dismiss because again, the credibility of the people saying it. Now, perhaps that's all smoke and mirrors. Maybe Team Floyd want that to get out to the public to make Top Rank feel like Floyd will take Cotto unless Pacquiao takes lower money. There's a lot of chess being played behind the scenes, I'm sure. Likewise, the whole Arum wanting May 2nd for Cotto could be a way to pressure Floyd to fighting Pacquiao, because Floyd knows his PPV numbers will take a big hit fighting someone else going head to head with Canelo.
Boxing politics is very complicated, filled with smoke and mirrors, disinformation, etc. What I'd give to be a fly on Haymons office wall as well as Arums.
