You will never see a PPV generate that much money and that many buys again. Nope. The fact that this fight didn't produce in the eyes of most people who shelled out the money for the fight (ppv, tickets, etc) will ensure this.
For now and the immediate future. Takes a lot of time to build super fights. 10 years from now, anything is possible. 10 years ago no one could have imagined Pacquiao being this big. Plenty of rising stars in the sport, lots of young talent with huge potential.

Half a billion is pretty fucking absurd though. And their still counting in the money rolling in, total amount after they calculate all the foreign revenue etc may end up being a lot more.

Looks like the super fight is going to happen next year--->

Richard Johnson, of the New York Post reported:

“It’s already being negotiated,” a source told me. Pacquiao needs four months of rehab Richard Johnson, of the New York Post reported:

“It’s already being negotiated,” a source told me. Pacquiao needs four months of rehab post-surgery, and three months to train. “The fight will be the first event at the under-construction MGM–AEG Arena set to open next year.”

Super fight is for next year....Floyd will get 70% to Manny's 30% in the rematch...the fight will be 3Xs bigger than the first...meaning Floyd will make around $750,000,000.00 for one nights work...(Manny will try his hardest to get 50/50)...between the years of 2015 - 2016 Floyd will have brought in a take of $1 billion...Adrien Broner was right, "It's all about the billions".

That fight won't see half of what it did. It left a sour taste in the mouths of many people and there is no way that many people are going to shell out $100 bucks so soon. It will still be fresh in the minds of those who were disappointed and bought into the lie that Floyd is boring but failed to also see that Manny is a liar.

I agree with what your saying but damn...this is boxing were talking about... who would have thought this last fight would do over 4 million PPV buys...gross over half a billion dollars? Then you got these retarded ass Pacquiao fanatics saying: Floyd ran, hugged, paid the judges, paid the ref, fought in Vegas excuses. They are still posting this stupid shit 18 days after the fight. What's funny is Floyd did all that...why have a rematch same result Pacquiao loses? But his followers are CRAZY..I don't know bra...this shit might blow the roof off. Or sell 300K PPV LOL!!!

imo it wont sell more. it went that high cus of people who normally wouldn't watch boxing. that shit was hype. I never seen so many commercials on so many channels for one event. plus word of mouth and party flyers. Mayweathers style got the spot light but people don't want that style. Mayweather fans can disagree but it is what it is. people don't want a low scoring football game unless it's dope play after dope play. that's why americans don't fuck with soccer, and barely fuck with hockey. if the rematch were to happen you'd have a bunch of media reminding people of Mayweathers style, for better or worse. it'd probably sell more than any other boxing match though.

Yeah I always thought thats the whole reason Mayweather didn't rematch Oscar, he knew it would flop. Remember they were set to rematch, that was the whole reason Oscar fought Stevie Forbes, a tune up for Floyd. But there wasn't much excitement at all for a rematch cuz everyone complained how disappointing the fight was. Then Floyd ending up retiring after Hatton.

I mean, a rematch would sell and they'd make great money, just not nearly as much.

Would they blame Mayweather's style or Manny's lack of throwing punches lol. Got Em!!
they'd blame Mayweathers style. everybody I personally talked to after the fight, who generally didn't give a fuck about boxing, thought it was boring. only naming Mayweather as the reason for a "boring" fight. he's the main draw. he's the richest athlete. he took majority of the purse. he wanted everybody to watch "him".

everybody I personally talked to after the fight, who actually liked boxing, all said the same thing. "Mayweather was boxing". "He's a defensive boxer".

But do you guys think that Arum and Haymon were aiming at the hardcore fans? Fuck no! They wanted the causal fan because they were the ones who just wanted to be there, or find an excuse to throw a party, the ones who spent the dollars. So if they come out and say the fight was boring, it means something.

So in other words most people don't know shit about boxing and fail to see brilliance when it is staring them in the face.
yes. most people don't know shit about boxing cus they don't fuck with it. brilliance doesn't always sell unless many people can see it. boxing fans want too many people to accept the shit as brilliance. "fight" of the century woulda been better off as "match" of the century. since that's what it was going to be.

Everyone wants to go out there way to say it sucked or Mayweather ran and all it tells me is your not really boxing fan in the 1st place.
but Mayweather is trying to sell to non-boxing fans. if this wasn't "fight of the century" then only boxing fans woulda watched and knew what they were getting.

It means what? That casual fans don't know shit about boxing. If there was ever a moment in history, to show casuals what boxing is, and to show its not about just knocking someone out, then this was it. Instead, we get LIARS like Arum, Oscar, BHOP, roach and manny. We also get people like you, battle. The public should be educated and it took a nine figure fight to educate them. Sadly, the students (the fans) still flunked the course because they parrot shit they hear others say.

It was a big fight. What fight during the last century made nine figures? You can go ahead and adjust for inflation. This fight was six years in the making, this was the fight most people came to see. Instead we got a masterful performance by one fighter and selfies from another.

I been fuckin with Pac since about '05. I know it was a huge "fight". what i'm sayin is advertising it as a "fight" vs "match" in peoples eyes. it was a match more than a fight. 2 totally different definitions. what you posted to battle about showing what boxing really is, is true. but people don't get excited about that style. people feel like they got bamboozled. that's on them. don't buy into something you know nothing about. but I can also see why people aint hyped about Mayweathers performance, after the fact.

I personally don't have a problem with them calling it "fight" of the century, although I barely consider Mayweather a fighter. a boxing match is still a fight in my eyes. i'm sure people woulda still bought into the "match" of the century, but then there's no excuses for thinking it'll be something other than what it's suppose to be.

HERESY @HERESY And what do you know about boxing besides copying and pasting shit up from your friend Google? If you knew so much about boxing then why don't you become a trainer or something? get involved! You see, the "hardcore" fans are just as fans as the "casual" fan is. You know how many "hardcore" fans streamed this fight vs how many "casual" fans bought it? Mayweather hired Ariza for what? Were you able to tell if Ariza made a difference or not in Mayweather's performance? Floyd knows how to box, yes, he's one of the best. But when he says he'll knock someone out, or this is the fight of his life, etc. did he fight like that? No! Why? Because he was talking to the casual fan because they buy the fights. The money is with them. So when people have been posting up that video about how Floyd predicted the outcome of this fight, he knows how he fights. He knows who and when to fight them. This whole A- side shit should be decided by the boxing organizations, not the fighters. So if the casual fan wants to say the fight was boring, it's a big deal. If Floyd says that he knew about manny's injury and didn't capitalized on it with huge punches and fucking him up for reals, then he's playing the "hardcore" fans. This was an opportunity for him to say no one is worth watching but him, and instead people are already looking toward the future and are asking for a GGG vs Canelo fight, not Floyd vs Lara, or Thurman, or another mandatory

Battle, I google shit and post it for dummies like you because you say shit and don't know what the fuck you are talking about. You're the jester here and everyone knows "it's just battle." As for training, that's not my thing thats up my bros alley. Why don't you become a fuckin lawyer and prosecute Al Haymon?

Everything else you say, except for fans wanting to see GGG Canelo fight, and the "a side" needing to be determined by the bodies is meaningless. Fans need to stop blaming Floyd and need to understand that while one guy came to fight the other came to take selfies, had no plan, allowed his friends to bet on him, lied several times, etc.

Stop blaming Floyd and Haymon for your problems.
