fight went exactly how i expected.
Floyd uses his ability to completely outbox people when he wants the win. It makes for boring fights, but oh well. About 70% of the people who watch boxing just watch for a knockout and dont appreciate the skill involved with it. Sure he's falling short on being entertaining to those 70% of the "Fans" but fuck it he's still without a loss.
His keys to the victory were 1st his reach advantage
His speed and amazing counterpunch ability which in his case go hand-in-hand.

Granted he COULD'VE (not should've) gone toe-to-toe with Baldomir but i think Floyd knows that his skill might be taking him past what his Jaw can naturally handle in terms of a strong flush punch, also the power his punches dont carry. Something RJJ learned the hard way a couple of times. Also i could just see it now if Floyd had decided to stand in and throw em with Baldomir and got knocked out after winning all the rounds, they would've asked why he wasnt sticking and moving and neutralizing the bigger man's punching ability.

The thing that makes me laugh is he continually beats everyone he faces, but gets no luv @ the end of the fight, just criticism. Floyd exposes these fighters for their simple lack of diversified skill without having to go for the KO. I love it! These other fighters are either too slow, too dumb, and sometimes a lil of both to contend.

They should've grilling Baldomir at the end of the fight. THey should've asked if he deserved to be called a champion when he could only land 79 punches in 12 rounds.
Nice breakdown, who's up next for him?

An old DLH and then retire.

He did a very good job ducking Tsyzu, Hatton, & Margarito his entire career.
Why fight top tier opposition when you can face fighters like Demarcus Corley, Henry Bruseles, Baldomir and the like...and get paid the same amount.

that shit was garbage.

maywether needs to fight some better opponents. although, baldomir's dome kept him in the fight. I think FMJ reinjured his right hand on that fool's big ass forehead.

the best part of the fight was at the end when he gave larry merchant's drunk ass a good tongue lashing.....hilarious.

IMO, that fight made baldomir look better and floyd look worse because Baldomir took floyd the distance, while Floyd needed the judges to put baldomir away. do you see what I'm saying?

I say forget DLH. It would be a coo fight but it would be boring. Mayweather would HAVE to fight the same style against DLH just outta respect for the man's history. An exciting fight?

I think the fight that would make Mayweather look like the great he is would be to fight Hatton. Hatton is another Gatti/Baldomir. He bulls forward. Has a punch if u stand in front of it, but has no game on the go. Floyd could pick him apart and because Hatton wont quit he wont know what angles not to give Floyd. I think it would be exciting and get the US and Europe on the same page. Then after that I think a DLH fight might be in order. It all depends on how Floyd fills out while keeping his speed.

People need to be realistic about boxing. Floyd is not pulling off a Carlos Baldomir. He isnt someone who walks around @ a heavy weight and drops it to fight at a lighter weight to appear stronger and more durable. If he starts stepping up in weight he's going to be putting himself at a disadvatange. Thats the reality of it. Fukc the P4P status. He isnt Sugar Ray Robinson, but he is damn good. Floyd is taking steps up and up to make sure his skills and mind are on the same page.

Floyd didnt have to go for the KO!
He outboxed him and used the judges. People forget that boxing has judges and that a 10-count doesnt determine the outcome of 60%+ of fights.

Its sad to say that since the era of a young Mike Tyson, people have forgotten about the ability to outbox and outpoint an opponent. So a lot of people think a boxing clinic isnt as impressive or indicative of how good a boxer is. ANd must we forget he hurt his hand. Cmon now...

Haha.... Sup 2-0, I see that you're a big time fight fan now.
As much as I hate the sport's corruption, I still love it!
Sup mig, been a long time comrade.

I love boxing man, I always have. I just fell out of it for a long time because I didn't have the means ($$$) to watch the big fights. For the last few years now I've finally had the oppurtinity to either order them, watch them at a near by casino or download them via boxing torrent sites, so I can finally keep up with the boxing world.

Well if you're ever in the Bay, you're welcome to join us bro.
I rarely miss a big fight!

This fight turned out to be a little boring but I think Mayweather answered a big question that was luming over him.
Would he be big enough to compete against true welterweights?
He might not have the power, but he definately has the speed and stamina to outbox just about anybody in the division. Who cares about his chin (which I think it's suspect) if you can't even touch him.

It would be a good fight to see him against Hatton but Hatton went back to Super Lightweight. At welterweight, I think a fight against Cotto would be more entertaining than a De La Hoya fight.
I don't think those two will be fighting. First thing De La Hoya said that his final fight would be in May of next year.
Shortly after the fight with Baldomir, Mayweather called it quits.
He's saying that his next fight will be his last and that he wants to fight in February....
Perhaps the 50 million dollar purse will convince these two to get in the ring.
After all, Mayweather didn't seem too excited to fight Mosley or Margarito in the post fight press conference.

Honestly, I think Mayweather would control Mosley with his jab all night long if they ever fight. And Margarito might have the power but he won't have the speed both with his fists or his feet in order to catch Mayweather.
I think Cotto has a shot, at the very least it would be a good fight.
De La Hoya has a shot, but I don't know if Mayweather would be willing to climb up to 154 lbs to fight him for his title.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens....

By the way, my bad on Guerrero.
The cat just didn't prepare for the fight. He looked so out of it.
How about Paul Williams? This guy would give Margarito a run for his money....

Why would hit quit after one more fight? He's only what, 29? I understand that he's got plenty of money and really doesn't have to worry about anything for the rest of his life, but if he wants to be considered one of the best all time, or as good as Sugar Ray Robinson as he claims, he still has a lot to prove...imo.

Margarito is actual very fast, just not as fast as Mayweather. I don't think he would have a problem catching him anyways. Speed doesn't always have to beat speed. Faster doesn't automaticlaly win.

Castillo (who has very average speed) made Mayweather look bad by moving with him, rather than against him. In my opinion, Castillo won the first fight and Pretty Boy isn't undefeated in my eyes.

As you can tell, I am a PBF hater and have never liked his attitude, management and ring performance.
