Haven't seen a thread yet, so why not?

Who's watching the fight this saturday?

I heard Mayweathers trainer and uncle, Roger, will be serving jail time and wont be at the fight. Could this be a big upset?

Unlikely, but it makes for an interesting story

I'll definitely be tuning in !

I think Floyd has to be careful, Baldomir is bigger and stronger and if Floyd gets caught with that wide right that he throws, it could be trouble ! I think that Floyd, as usual, is gonna use his boxing skills and come away with the UD.

Unless, he tries to showboat and slug it out in the early rounds, Baldomir is slow, but he's pretty damn strong...especially compared to the guys that Floyd has fought.

Should be dope !

^^Good analysis! I agree, the only thing that can get in the way of Mayweather is his huge head of his, he's one of the most cockiest fighters I've ever seen.

JAIL TIME OR A SUSPENSION FROM RINGSIDE???? EITHER WAY I THINK THAT ONCE PBF FEELS BALDOMIRS POWER HE WONT WANNA GO 12 WITH HIM AND END IT FAST......
Jail time.

"While Floyd is battling Baldomir, Roger, 45, will remain locked up in the Clark County (Nev.) Detention Center, where he is serving a six-month jail sentence for committing battery with substantial bodily harm against the grandmother of his infant son in July 2005.

He was sentenced Sept. 19 and won't be out of jail until March. "

i'm not rooting for either. skipping this match and going to see the pacman in vegas but i think either mayweather gets the decision or baldomir stops him in his tracks? the chances of that are questionable but i think it can probly happen.

i'm laughing cause me and c-dubb are the same typa cats always rooting for the underdog.

this match does'nt matter to me either way..

Haha.... Sup 2-0, I see that you're a big time fight fan now.
As much as I hate the sport's corruption, I still love it!

You have to go with Mayweather here.
But I will say that I agree with Emmanuel Stewart, this is Mayweather's biggest and toughest opponent ever. This is his first true test against a legitimate welterweight.
Conventional wisdom says Mayweather can win the fight with his speed and defense, AKA his boxing ability.
Baldomir's best chance is pressure pressure pressure. He needs to press Mayweather just like Castillo did. He needs to stay on top of Mayweather the whole night and he must not allow Mayweather to clinch.
Baldomir will have to wrestle Mayweather and out muscle him in the clinch.
He's the bigger and stronger fighter, and he has a good chance if he can land some punches within the clinch.

I get the feeling that Baldomir knows this very well, and that he has a good gameplan for the fight. I'm judging by how well he studied Gatti and he gives me the impression that he's very intelligent. He can nullify Mayweather's speed with pressure and well timed right hands, just like he did Gatti. And most importantly, just like Castillo did with Mayweather.

I think this is going to be a very interesting fight, will Mayweather finally prove that he's a solid welterweight and not just a blown up lightweight?

Like I said, you have to go with the best p4p fighter in Mayweather but I wouldn't be surprised if Baldomir spoils Mayweather's future plans against De La Hoya. As much as I want to see Baldomir close Floyd's mouth, a small part of me hopes Mayweather wins to set up a Jr. Middleweight showdown against De La Hoya....

By the way, be sure to check out Paul Williams in the undercards.
This guy is the future of both the welterweight and middleweight divisions.
The cat is freakishly tall for his weight and is a very good boxer puncher.

Also keep an eye on Bay Area native Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero.
This guy is the real deal and he's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the featherweight division!

You know Floyd will be favored in that fight.
I'm sorry but Mayweather would be too small for De La Hoya and I'm predicting De La Hoya wins by KO if those two ever go at it.

And now that online gambling is basically illegal, hell I'll go to Las Vegas and go all in on De La Hoya....

fight went exactly how i expected.
Floyd uses his ability to completely outbox people when he wants the win. It makes for boring fights, but oh well. About 70% of the people who watch boxing just watch for a knockout and dont appreciate the skill involved with it. Sure he's falling short on being entertaining to those 70% of the "Fans" but fuck it he's still without a loss.
His keys to the victory were 1st his reach advantage
His speed and amazing counterpunch ability which in his case go hand-in-hand.

Granted he COULD'VE (not should've) gone toe-to-toe with Baldomir but i think Floyd knows that his skill might be taking him past what his Jaw can naturally handle in terms of a strong flush punch, also the power his punches dont carry. Something RJJ learned the hard way a couple of times. Also i could just see it now if Floyd had decided to stand in and throw em with Baldomir and got knocked out after winning all the rounds, they would've asked why he wasnt sticking and moving and neutralizing the bigger man's punching ability.

The thing that makes me laugh is he continually beats everyone he faces, but gets no luv @ the end of the fight, just criticism. Floyd exposes these fighters for their simple lack of diversified skill without having to go for the KO. I love it! These other fighters are either too slow, too dumb, and sometimes a lil of both to contend.

They should've grilling Baldomir at the end of the fight. THey should've asked if he deserved to be called a champion when he could only land 79 punches in 12 rounds.
