am i the only one who thinks mayweather would have devastating knockout power in MMA though? i mean look what he does to dudes wearing 10-12 oz gloves, imagine how much quicker and powerful he would be with those 4 oz jonits. but then again, it all depends on how his brittle hands hold up.

isn't that the The California Kid or whatever they call him? idk, that guy is a fag
urijah is the man. one of the best pound for pound mma fighters without a doubt. he does it all. great wrestling, great submission defense, good submissions, and a good striker.
in his last fight the guy took his back for like 3 minutes and didnt come even close to submitting him.
and ive seen him knock a guy twice his size in a street fight.
and hes humble and just a good guy. not one bad thing i can say about the guy.

first off not all MMA guys have weak chins. There are guys out there that come from striking backgrounds such as Muai Thai and even boxing backgrounds and they can take punches. And it's quite laughable that you would think a boxer would easliy knock out a top MMA fighter. Whats a boxer gonna do if he throws a punch and get takendown or tries to bob and weave and gets put in the Muai Thai clinch? Do you really think Mayweather could easily Ko guys like Uriah Faber or Kid yamamoto?
u got a point, i just love arguing with u mma cats, i love boxing.

the weight of the glove adds to the impact of the glove.
Another person who has never trained and doesn't know shit. Boxing gloves are used to protect both the fighter and his opponent.

Boxing gloves are gloves that fighters wear or use on their hands to cushion the impact during boxing matches. They are also used for protection from injury such as fractures and/or contusions when punched. Unlike the classical cestus, boxing gloves protect both opponents, and were adopted as a safety improvement over earlier "bare knuckle" boxing.
One of the aspects of MMA being considered brutal is because it's pretty much bare knuckle and getting hit bare knuckle is 100x worse than a 16oz boxing glove. So obviously it takes a better chin to take a hit from 4 oz gloves than 16oz gloves.

I'd like to see Floyd stick to boxing and make the fights that people want to see...ie. Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Margarito, shit I'd even like to see him in there with Clottey before seeing him switch over to MMA.
