since almost all these threads eventually take a wrong turn with the internet bangin', i think i should just throw some knowledge out there on the illegal immigration issue. 1st off, most of you are saying that people should do it the right way of dealing with getting a visa and what not, but what about those thousands of young kids that come to the country because their families couldn't make it in their country of origin or maybe they just wanted to come to America for the money...do you think those kids should not be allowed to go to college and should they be deported because they were forced to come here and some don't even speak their native language because their families wanted them to be American. Another point i want to throw out is the number of undocumented people living in America that are not Mexican, 40,000 German's are here undocumented. The only difference between them and hispanic immigrants is that they fit a certain stereotype of being American unlike the african americans, hispanics, asians, and middle easterns when will always face a racial prejudice. This probably will not change people's minds on the issue but hopefully you will realize that its not just about the hispanic guy on the corner trying to work construction instead of facing communist opression in his native country or the family that works together on a field for a a daily wage that would equal their monthly wage in their native land.
Back in 1995 I went to a conference with a friend who worked at The American Friends Service Committee & they had some documentaion about 75% of the INS budget was targeted towards the imaginary line we call the border. The paperwork also stated that about 50-70% of all illegal imigrants come here from over sea with student Visas & when they expire they disappear.
What is the proper Ave especially since 99% of the Population is from a foreign land. excluding people of central & south america who are also indigenous to the western hemisphere.

You are not INDIGENOUS the the LAND you LIVE on are you? If yes then you are not an immigrant. If no then yes you are an immigrant or a descendent of an immigrant in my book same damn thang.
