yeah, TV shows have to pay royalties to labels/artists to use their material.....actually, all forms of media do, the publishing owner get paid for every use of the song unless the contract signed by the publishing owner and the entity using it states otherwise
if mars holds publishing rights to the song he should look into getting compensated, if they did use his music......if not, fuckit, just say you got your shit on MTV anyways
