A married Wisconsin man has been charged with causing a woman to have two miscarriages by slipping her a morning-after pill.

Authorities said the woman already has a 3-year-old child with Manishkumar Patel and had become pregnant by him two other times.

"These allegations are devious, diabolical and disturbing," Outagamie County Court Commissioner Brian Figy told Manishkumar Patel at a hearing, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent newspaper.

Authorities said the woman became suspicious of a smoothie that Patel had bought for her from an ice cream shop. She contacted police after having a sample tested by a California lab, which confirmed the presence of the abortion pill RU-486.

Patel could face several charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child.

The newspapers reported that Patel is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child; second-degree reckless endangerment; placing foreign objects in edibles; possession of prescription drugs; stalking; burglary; possession of burglary tools and two counts of violating a restraining order. The burglary charge stems from his allegedly entering the woman's residence while she was out.

His attorney said he expects Patel to plead not guilty.

Patel faces up to 94 years in prison and extended supervision if convicted.

According to court documents, the relationship between Patel and the woman started in 1999.

The newspaper reported the charges against Patel are not his first run-in with the law.

In 2004, he was charged with domestic abuse disorderly conduct after he got in a fight with his wife. She claimed he pushed her backwards, causing her to fall and hit her head on a wall. The charges were dropped as part of a deferred prosecution agreement.

In December 2005, Patel was charged in Outagamie County with fourth-degree sexual assault and bail jumping for violating his bond in another case.

The complaint alleged that in October 2005, Patel assaulted a woman at a motel where she was a manager. The case went to trial and a jury found Patel not guilty.

If he gave her the morning after pill that would stop the baby from even starting to develop in the first place right?

The eggs wouldn't ever join with the sperm, so thats pretty retarded what hes charged for.

Im talking about the CONCEPT...not the situation.

THats like the cops killing someone in custody and saying "oops...we were a bit rough" and a gag banger murdering a rival. Same concept...different situations, VERY different "consequences".

My point is, its somewhat of a double standard. Its OK to kill a fetus, get paid for it and not get charged. Kill a fetus, without her knowing, get damn near a century in jail. The two differences are consent, and "expertise".

Hell, i could use a coat hanger and still be called an "abortionist", i just have the degree to back it up.
