BROOKLYN (WPIX) — A man was killed early Monday morning when he fell into a mixing machine in a Mexican tortilla factory in Brooklyn.
Police say they received a 911 call at about 2:30 a.m. of a man trapped inside a commercial-size mixing vat at Tortilleria Chinantla, located at 969 Grand Street in Williamsburg.
When officers and firefighters arrived, they discovered the 22-year-old victim had fallen into the waist-high machine. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's identity was not immediately released.
Police say no criminality is suspected.
Tortilleria Chinantla has made tortillas for local restaurants and markets since 1992, according to the company's website.
