Sadly that's the same thing that crossed my mind. The timing of it doesn't imply a maverick by any means. And I am a big proponent of not staying with a party when you disagree with the direction when wrong.

I disagree with everything you post H

Thus, simply on principle, I'm arguing that the switch is not merely a passing event but a major paradigm shift in the realities of modern-day American life.

This is how my argument will look:

1. Introduction (This is where I inflate the switch's importance by drawing comparisons to the sea change of public opinion in the UK in regards to universal healthcare following world war 2)
a. Pie Chart consisting of several categories

2. Who is Arlen Specter? Biopic, examination of Facebook/Myspace pages accompanied by Chumbawumbas "I get Knocked Down"
a. family pictures
a1. proof of proper (non-interlaced) family tree
b. early footage and statements - final draft nixes newsletter one calling jews 'dastardly little termites'
c. short docupic on first known political activism (attempting to rescind the Native American vote)

3. Ad Hominem attacks on you where I repeatedly call you "friend". (Now see here friend...)
a. ritual cursing of you using 3 feet of hair taken from Mexcom's unibrow
b. etc

There is more, but I feel my point is now entered into the realm of historical fact and thus is immune to challenge.

As you can see, I have won the debate. Lock this thread.

Specter only cares about being in senate as long as he can, he will agree with anyone whos in power at the time. Hes nothing short of a legislative groupie.

The guy is nuts, you can have his psycho shit.
