Im surprised to see so many people giving this cd good reviews. Honestly I thought this was not Dre's worst but easily most dissapointing cds. First of all the production was trash. Its very difficult to listen to when of your favorite rappers when they beats are so bunk. They were also a little to laidback for me.

Dre's lyrics were on point on about 7 or 8 songs. But what made me dislike this album the most was how softly he spoke instead of bringing that loud confident style he did on Stupid Doo Doo Dumb, YBB, and Romp 1. Most of the features were also wack.
Overall I'd give it a 2.5/5. My favorite tracks were Fire, Fishhead Stew, and Mac Stabber. Even though I like MacStabbe, I feel Dre got real lucky cause I think Mall easily woulda laid down the law had he released a whole song.

I SECOND THAT REAL TALK.

HOW MANY ALBUMS NOW-A-DAYS ARE A 4/5???

YEA ITS NOT A CLASSIC BUT UP HERE THO.

AND HOW DONT YOU LIKE "HOW YO HOOD"? THATS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MAC DRE SONGS. I GUESS JUST DIFFERENT OPINONS.
What's up, Quick? About "How Yo Hood..." I dug the production (especially that swirling violin sound) and MAC DRE was lyrically on point, but KILLA's verse wasn't too good--he ended nearly EVERY rhyme on his verse with the phrase "a little different." After about the seventh or eighth bar, it just gets repetitious.

Plus, to me, the BEST unity songs are those where the rappers just deliver some dope verses WITHOUT being all in-your-face about "we're from different 'hoods but we're still together, la-dee-dah..." IMHO, music fans learn by example, not explanation. But I'm sure MAC DRE's intentions were good, and RAPPER GONE BAD is a worthy addition to any Bay Area fan's library (although you should still try to get YOUNG BLACK BROTHA and STUPID DOO DOO DUMB first, if you can find them). PEACE!
