Casey just sent me this email asking me to clear things up so essentially Strange isn't mad at M80...

Hope this helps.

I'm very concerned about this whole mis-understanding. MSC, Strange, Tech N9ne and M80 are all aware of the "M80 still blows" thread that you started on the Strange Message Board, and I don't feel that the issue has yet been resolved. I need you to understand how important it is to us that the credibility of M80’s support and involvement with the artists that we’re hired to work with can be damaged by this type of mis-understanding. The damages could lead to the cancellation of the Tech N9ne online team.

I was wondering if you could post a retraction of sorts to help quell the issue. As you know now, I was not ignoring your emails and my mailbox was not full, you simply had the wrong email address. Now you have the correct one, and you received a response. If you could clear up this problem on the "M80 still blows" thread, all of M80 would be grateful.

Thank you,

Casey

Re:

No, I can't. I'm not going to pretend as if this is the first time I've had problems with M80, and whether or not I sent that mail to the wrong address or not is still up for debate. The only address I have in my address book is @m80im.com and I'm pretty sure that's where it was sent.

Regardless of all that, I'll post the mail you just sent me and let it do all the talking for me. It isn't my job to keep YOU in business, and like I said earlier, people know very well the problems I've had with M80 in the past. Not to say you guys don't do a good job doing what you get paid for, it's just that I'm not really in the right position to be a part of your "mass marketing army" (did I get that right?) being as I try to be more than just a fan or member of an "online team" when it comes to Tech and Strange...

I wouldn't worry too much about people being bothered by *my* humble opinion though. You guys do a fine job and I'm just some kid on a message board.

Hey Ville, why couldn't you send your entry before? Did you not have my correct email address either? Anyway, I got your entry too, so all is good. And yes, I will except your entry late.

You guys arent even greatful for the fact Tech N9ne interacts with his fan by having m80 manage contests. You guys arent given' them enough credit. This is the first I have heard of a problem with m80 ever. Stop the pissing and moaning.

Hey dumbass. Tech doesn't really have ANYTHING to do with M80. M80 is a MARKETING COMPANY who is paid to trick fools like you into thinking you're "interacting with Tech N9ne". They are paid by Strange music along with other major artists (POD, Nappy Roots, 3 doors down, Marilyn Manson) and tv shows (Herculese, Xena, The Simpsons seas.3) to basically trick as many kids into promoting a product (in this case Tech N9ne) all the while making them think they're being included in something. In their own words;

"M80 develops and manages groups of "Brand Loyalists" that become micro-marketing armies for your brands, products, and services."

I don't particularly have a problem with that, it's what they get paid for and they do one hell of a job. I just think it a shame that while I'm out doing person to person promo by handing out cd's and shit, talkin' to people about Tech, kids are getting signed shirts, and fuckin' scooters for spamming the internet with misleading links to win recruitment contests. And when I did win a contest, I was sent (very promptly I might add) a sealed copy of the Anghellic cd I already own. I personally don't think it's productive, but then... I'm not the one with the marketing company am I?

But fuck it. All I need is some STRANGE7 cookies, my OLD copy of Anghellic, a drink in my hand, and I'm set.

Just don't get fooled into thinking that M80 would treat the online promotion of Tech N9ne any differently than they would treat the online promotion of Celine Dion or a Sesame Street album. Granted, they spam different sites, but it's all really the same.

And I might have said this before, but I'll repeat it just in case I haven't... This problem isn't a problem at all. So I couldn't get to someone's email... big f'n deal. I don't know why this had to turn into some sort of Zer0 vs. M80 thread, unless of course it's just another clever form of promo that M80's come up with.
