1. download and burn a copy of ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

2. boot off the live cd and it should mount your computer hard drive even if it's ntfs

3. plug in an external cd drive

4. copy from /media/your_hard_drive/music to /media/your_external drive

this should work to rescue your music. just because you hit delete in winblows doesn't mean anything is deleted. the operating system just removes the pointer to your deleted files and marks those blocks on the disk as freespace. a linux cd has the ability to mount the drive and see the old files still in tact. doubt if you want but that's how they rescue your drive for computer forensics.

to truly delete you need somethin like bcwipe http://download.cnet.com/BCWipe/3000-2144_4-10009333.html

good luck to you on recovering your files

Macs are fine for people who are too stupid to avoid obvious sites that will give you viruses and enjoy blowing mass amounts of money on a product known for its hardware issues, but some of us actually know how to navigate and keep our computers virus-free while spending a lot less money on a computer.

Almost anything can be recovered on a PC, but it's time-consuming and you have to know what the fuck you're doing. In other words, you can't be a moron. Unfortunately, the people who know how to do things like this are the same people I spoke of above - you know, the ones that avoid the viruses in the first place.

Data recovery is an option, but an expensive one due to the time-consumption I spoke of earlier. You're better off just downloading your music files again.

And ease up on the child porn sites next time and you probably won't have this issue again.
