Looking for a band....

As hard or harder than Tool with little/no screaming.

I used to be into that shit along time ago...I cant get into it now, especially high pitched screamo and shit like that.

Also, something a bit less "masturbation guitar" than Iced Earth would be nice...somewhat of a modern or hard sound without sounding like the second incarnation of Megadeth.

I wouldn't call them "hard" (but neither is tool really), but you should try out a band called Frantic Bleep. They make kind of atmospheric somewhat-heavy metal.

Never did I say Tool was "Hard".

I'm using hard comparatively, as in Tool is harder than Offspring, who is harder than Radiohead.

Are you requesting this for yourself or for another purpose, because answers may vary if that be the case. If you're looking for something like tool, then clearly Earshot is your answer - "Wait" is a good song.

Not "like" - just someone with understandable lyrics who is around the intensity of Tool...as in not "hardcore metal", but not "adult alternative"....

Sort of like a middle ground type of thing.

Mainly, what I'd like is understandable lyrics and a hard-edged sound but not like Corpsegrind or some shit without coming off totally pussed out.
