where did u hear he got an ego problem?
Heres one article before the draft but my boy was telling me how bad his ego was.

Why would the Browns schedule last-minute workouts with borderline first-round receivers Hakeem Nicks of North Carolina, Kenny Britt of Rutgers and Mohamed Massaquoi of Georgia?

It may be no coincidence that those trips took place after the Browns visited in Berea with Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech, the draft's No. 1-rated receiver.

According to a source, the Browns were so put off by Crabtree's world-revolves-around-me attitude that coach Eric Mangini elected to extend the search for a receiver.

If the Browns do complete the much-discussed trade of Braylon Edwards to the New York Giants, they probably would acquire the Giants' first pick at No. 29. Hicks, Britt and Massaquoi are projected for the late first round, early second round.

The Browns also have visited with receiver Jeremy Maclin of Missouri.

HERES ANOTHER ONE

Crabtree may not have a laundry list of arrests, but his ego is abnormally large to the point where he repeatedly demeaned training staff, his work ethic has been described as "marginal at best," and his intelligence and ability to handle success remain major question marks. One thorough evaluator compared Crabtree’s mental makeup to that of former LSU and Buccaneers 2004 15th overall pick Michael Clayton, who made a big splash in the NFL as a rookie before going on to average 31 catches, 378 yards and a half-TD catch each of the past four years as he lost focus, bought into the hype and stopped working at his craft the way young receivers must do to be great. Crabtree's competitiveness noticeably stands out on tape, and he did play through injury last season. However, when the Red Raiders were getting whipped by better competition (Oklahoma and Mississippi) during the final two games of the season, Crabtree did not finish either game. After he gets a taste of success in the pros, evaluators are not confident he will be able to handle the trappings of the pro game.

what exactly is this "EGO" you talking about? explain....

during college game interviews he was a quiet dude and under Singletary's wings...I highly doubt it he will act like a "DIVA" as many of you and media make him sound like..

Dude has a strive for doing better and making shit happen, I see no problem with that...

Im feeling more confident about our 1st, its just gonna take a lot of dedication from DHB and move on past the draft. Football is his job now, lets see what the kid gots.

As far as Crabtree. Lets give him 3 years, thats just about how much we gave Alex Smith to acklowledge the fact that he isnt the QB, Niner fans thought would take their team past the regular season....

Crabtree is this years draft Reggie Bush. Super hyped coming out of college but he won't be that much of a factor. He will not be a top wide receiver in the NFL because he's too slow!

Maybe...maybe not. But if you view someone as having an ego problem...why take the risk?

Remember when Bryant threw his towel at Parcells? Not everyone responds well to strict coaching.

Just last night the NFL Network had a show about some players and their journey to the NFL...one of them being Crabtree.

In the first few minutes they mentioned him and his "flash"...on and off the field...and showed him getting into some car.

That doesn't necessarily mean he has a huge ego problem...but add to that to some of the stories that have been coming out...and there MAY be some truth to it.

lol @ crabtree being superhyped.

when you have 134 receptions for 1,962 yards and 22 touchdowns in your first year playing wide receiver at a higher level of competition in college after playing quarterback in highschool, you're going to impress people...
Who cares? What he did in college is what he did in college not the NFL. Does production in college=the same production in the NFL? We'll see how good he is.... Reggie Bush put up bomb numbers in college too. So you're saying Crabtree is going to be all that huh.... you need to learn the game of football before you go running your mouth. Crabtree comes from the same type of offense that Alex Smith came from and how is he doing in the NFL now? You gotta lot to learn so make sure you show up after I call you out for making stupid remarks!

Speed isn't everything. Some of the greatest wr's like jerry rice, tim brown, andre reed, cris carter, etc. weren't the fastest guys around.

Tim Brown had jets when he was drafted! I never said speed was "everything" but for the most part you want your receivers fast.
