^^FUCK MLB. I want NFL in Portland!!! I remember there were talks of moving the Raiders to Portland about 8 years ago. That would have been perfect.
I understand, the only problem there is you're going to have to beat out LA, and that will be next to impossible to do for a metro area of 2.2 million people.

Houston did it but that's a metro area of 5 million people in football crazy Texas. Portland won't do it.

we have a better chance of gettin an MLS team before a MLB team... lucky for me, i like both sports...

Portland is trying to get an MLS team by 2010-2011. Seattle is gettin one next year in 09, and portland is a GREAT soccer town....
Yeah but the thing is the MLS still is a minor league. Wouldn't you rather be a part of a truly big league sport?

Seattle's got an MLS squad but it's going to be minor, roughly 20 dates a year at roughly 15-20,000 fans a game + not nearly all the games on TV = not much of a blip on the city's sports scene. I'm not saying it's chick's basketball or anything, but it's minor league.

it was in some street interview I think.. During the time they was havin the vote on team relocation... The ppl interviewin durant said something along the lines of "are u hear for the vote?" he said no it was for some other reason and he's not payin attention to it, then the interviewers said the owners voted yes on the relocation, then durant replied "that fat mufucka"

Honestly tho, if the move proves to be inevitable, how would yall feel if durant demanded a trade to Portland, then got traded away from clay for peanuts and role players?? Would yall be able to still follow him since he's in the nw still, and only a couple hours away for home games?? Or would yall just be too bitter to give a fuck??
Done w/ the NBA in that situation, would never watch another game for the rest of my life.

You can't follow for one second an entity that does something like that to your city.

Thank you very much, that's going straight to e-mail to all my buddies. Hilarious, it's good to hear him say that.

If there was a Michael Jordan type player in the NBA (somebody who was the face of the league) who was from Seattle and had that type of loyalty guys like Jason Terry have (the man has a "206" tattooed on his chest), it would be tight if the guy just stood up and said "i'm retiring if that team moves." Stern would shit himself that he couldn't milk him for all the advertising and all that, but unfortunately Nate Robinson or Jason Terry or Spencer Hawes or even the great Brandon Roy aren't nearly good enough to be able to pull something like that off.

Its definitely not gonna happen. Remember I said the talks were about 8 years ago.

i cant imagine... im a die hard fan, and that lil couple years of rocky negotiations and possibly selling the team we had, was some fucked up years... it didnt help that we were loosin 2 games to every 1 we won... we FINALY got a chance to be proud again once b roy and LA got drafted... then once oden came in that solidified the team in portland and Paul Allen said hes back with the squad 100%

well shit, yall are welcome to root for us, majority of NFL and MLB fans in portland root for the M's and Hawks.. so it aint much different (other the the bitterness of gettin a team of 40 years stolen from underneath yall..) and there's a lot of seattle influence on the team.. Paul Allen, Nate McMillan, B Roy, Martell... as a last ditch "FUCK YOU" to clay, yall should help ya lil brothers to the south out by tradin us durant... lol

Thanks for the kind words, you clearly understand. Can't do it though, we were rivals w/ you guys for so many years, just couldn't do it, I will be 100% done w/ the NBA, but you're definitely right about all the Seattle connections.
