i think they were counting on some gift cash after the cancellation. i know they dont make it anymore, & it sells for alot on ebay. i assume they know that too..

someone had a good ass deal on it on here awhile back. they said somethin like 200-300 for their barely used 60 gig. dont know if anyone ever took advantage.
