Sit back n chill...Why dont Beta produce like that anymore?
Thing is it comes down to the artist and what he/she is looking for. Most producers have moved on and are basically producing mainstream type of beats or other garbage alike. If I had shitload of $$ to spend on beats, I'd namely pick and choose beats according to my taste from people like Beta, and you wouldn't hear none of that trendy shit.

It's rare these days, therefore I think it is nice and refreshing seeing G-Macc do his thing.

Unfortunately, "mainstream type beats or other garbage alike" is what sells. IN case people have forgotten, rapping for MOST artists is a FULL TIME JOB. Why would they waste their time with something that most likely WONT feed you or your family?

Just like everything else in America, hip-hop is entrenched in capitalism. You either sink or swim if the tide changes. All these MC's trying to "stay true" to what they did 10 years ago is what is keeping them BROKE.

If you were a rapper, and you wanted to make an album that had potential to reach a wide audience, would you try and pick beats that only 1,000 people might like, or 100,000? A smart business person would go with the latter.

Sad but true. That g-macc album is a perfect example. That is basically an album made for people on this site and the few others that are stuck on that dark sicc sac style that lynch basically pioneered long ago but seems to have abandoned lately (from what I heard of daam anyway). That album will likley flop by most peoples standards but its already an instant classic on here. Fuck it tho id rather make an album tru to myself than for other people.

Either way this lion guy is cool I can't hate. Those are not the beats I would have paid for tho, with the exception of sit back and chill.

Look, everything you just typed up is true, and I can't deny that. You failed to mention, which is also true, how many rappers those figures would apply to? A handful maybe (excluding mainstream artists).
You can bring up these "smart business" remarks all you want, Lynch was not destined to be a mainstream artist doing Club songs in his 40's. A SMART rapper knows the pool (audience) he is reaching out to. Lets not kid ourselves.
Lastly, if a formerly known gangsta rapper has ambitions of an overnight success doing Pop, what can I say other than good luck to him. FORTUNATELY, not all are as such, broke, nor followers of a mockery. Woodie was a prime example of that before his passing. Good music is good music, and it will be recognized in the end regardless.

I take back any negative things I said about this lion guy. I've been bumpin a lot of his tracks (mostly the ones produced by beta or with madesicc features) and dudes got some skills. He doesn't rap like he did on "homicide" on his other shit. Must've been tryin some spoken word style on that track or somethin. Anyway any dude from tennesee that knows to fuck with sac cats on his albums is cool in my book.
